Inseveralcasesmorethanonegradeofaparticularmasteralloyisspecified,havingdifferingimpuritylimits,to satisfytherequirementsofvariousendproducts.EN1981:2003(E) 5 1Scope ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesthecompositionsofcopperbasedmasteralloysintendedforthemanufacture, deoxidation,ordesulfuri

20、zationofcastorwroughtalloys,especiallythosebasedoncopper,suppliedintheformof ingots,notchedbar,notchedslab(waffleplate),granulesorbrokenpieces. Aprocedureisincludedforsamplingthemasteralloysforanalysisforverificationofconformitytothecomposition requirements. Amethodforthedeterminationofchromium( III

NOTE Althoughmaterialsymboldesignationsusedinthisstandardmightbethesameasthoseinotherstandardsusing thedesignationsystemgiveninISO11901,thedetailedcompositionrequirementsarenotnecessaril

26、ythesame. 4.1.3Number ThematerialnumberdesignationisinaccordancewiththesystemgiveninEN1412. 4.2Product Theproductdesignationprovidesastandardisedpatternofdesignationfromwhicharapidandunequivocal descriptionofaproductisconveyedincommunication.Itprovidesmutualcomprehensionattheinternationallevel withr

27、egardtoproductswhichmeettherequirementsoftherelevantEuropeanStandard. Theproductdesignationisnosubstituteforthefullcontentofthestandard. Theproductdesignationforproductstothisstandardshallconsistof: denomination(Coppermasteralloy); numberofthisEuropeanStandard(EN1981); materialdesignation,eithersymb

33、500kgCoppermasteralloyEN1981 CM218EGRN withdeclarationofconformity 6Requirements 6.1Composition ThecompositionshallconformtotherequirementsfortheappropriatematerialgiveninTable1. 6.2Product form Themasteralloyshallbeinoneofthefollowingforms,asrequestedbythepurchasersee5e): ingot; notched bar; notche

34、dslab(waffleplate); granules; or broken pieces. Thedesignoftheingot,notchedbar,ornotchedslabshallbeatthediscretionofthesupplier,unlessaspecific designisrequestedbythepurchaser. 6.3Physical condition Theproductsshallbesuppliedfreefromdirtordrossandshallcontainnoextraneousmaterialdetrimentaltotheir me

35、tallurgicalquality. Brokenpiecesshallbereasonablyfreefromfinemetallicparticles.EN1981:2003(E) 8 7Sampling 7.1General Whenrequired(e.g.,ifnecessaryinaccordancewithspecifiedproceduresofasuppliersqualitysystem,orwhen thepurchaserrequestsinspectiondocumentswithtestresults,orforuseincasesofdispute),anins

36、pectionlot shallbesampledinaccordancewith7.2or7.3. 7.2 Castanalysis Forroutinecontrolpurposesasamplerepresentativeofeachcastshallbetakenfromthefurnace,orcrucible, duringtheprocessofcasting,andpouredintoacleanpermanentmouldofdimensionsappropriatetothechosen methodofanalysis. 7.3 Casesofdispute Incase

37、sofdisputeconcerningthecompositionofamasteralloyinaconsignment,themethodofsamplingshallbe agreedbetweenthedisputingparties. 8 Methodsofanalysis 8.1 Routinecastanalysis Theroutinemethodsofanalysiscarriedoutonthesampleobtainedinaccordancewith7.2,toverifyconformityof thecastofmasteralloytothisstandard,

38、shallbeatthediscretionofthesupplier. 8.2 Determinationofchromium(III)oxideinalloyCuCr10(CM202E) ForalloyCuCr10(CM202E),themethodrecommendedforthedeterminationofCr 2 O 3 isgiveninannexA. NOTE Aqualitativeassessmentcanbemadebyexaminingapolishedmicrosection,underpolarizedlight,at 250magni fication. 8.3

39、 Casesofdispute Incasesofdisputeconcerningtheresultsofanalysisofamasteralloy,theprocedureshallbeagreedbetweenthe disputingparties. 8.4 Roundingofresults Forthepurposeofdeterminingconformitytothecompositionallimitsspecifiedinthisstandard,theresultobtained fromanalysisshallberoundedinaccordancewiththe

40、followingprocedure,whichisbasedupontheguidance giveninannexBofISO310:1992.Itshallberoundedinonesteptothesamenumberoffiguresusedtoexpress thespecifiedlimitinTable1.EN1981:2003(E) 9 Thefollowingrulesshallbeusedforrounding: a) ifthefigureimmediatelyafterthelastfiguretoberetainedislessthan5,thelastfigur

41、etoberetainedshallbe keptunchanged; b) ifthefigureimmediatelyafterthelastfiguretoberetainedisequaltoorgreaterthan5,thelastfiguretobe retainedshallbeincreasedbyone. 9 Declarationofconformityandinspectiondocumentation 9.1 Declarationofconformity Whenrequestedbythepurchasersee5f)andagreedwiththesupplie
