From each board three test pieces shall be taken. 5.2 D
、imensions The dimensions of the test pieces are(300 2)mm (100 2)mm board thickness. The longer dimension shall be in the direction of sanding. 5.3 Conditioning The test pieces shall be conditioned to constant mass in an atmosphere with a mean relative humidity of (65 5)% and a temperature of(20 2) C
、. Constant mass is considered to be reached when the results of two successive weighing operations, carried out at an interval of24h, do not differ by more than0,1% of the mass of the test piece. 1) At present at the draft stage Figure 1 Determination of surface absorption of dry process fibreboards
、 (principle)EN382-1:1993 4 BSI 08-1999 6 Procedure 6.1 Positioning Position the test piece on the support at an inclination of (60 5) , with the sanding direction pointing downwards. Position the pipette on its fixture at (90 5) to and at a distance of(1 0,1)mm from the face of the test piece. 6.2 D
、ischarge of the toluene Discharge 1ml of toluene, having a temperature of (20 2) C, from the pipette onto the face of the test piece, within (4 2)s. Allow the toluene to run freely down the inclined surface of the test piece. For boards with two smooth surfaces, both faces shall be tested. The test
、shall be carried out inside a fume cupboard. 6.3 Measurement Measure the maximum length of the stain caused by the toluene, along a line parallel to the edges of the test piece, with an accuracy of 1 millimetre. 7 Expression of results 7.1 For a test piece The surface absorption of a test piece is e
、xpressed as the length of the stain caused by the toluene, to the nearest millimetre. When testing boards with two smooth surfaces, the lower of these two values shall be taken. 7.2 For a board The surface absorption of a board is the arithmetic mean of the results of all test pieces taken from that
