Thesecouplingsarefittedwithshutoffdevicesthatinterruptthegasflowwhenthetwoelementsaredisconnected, sothatcouplinganduncouplingoperationscanbeperformedmanuallywhiletheequipmentisunderpressure. 1Scope ThisEuropeanStandarddefinesthespecificationsandthetypetestsforquickactioncouplingswithshutoff valv

18、es.Itappliestoquickactioncouplingsusedbetweentheregulatorandthetorchinequipmentforgaswelding, cuttingandalliedprocesses. ThisstandardappliestocaseswherethesecouplingsareusedwithhosesaccordingtoEN559orthreadedunions accordingtoEN560. 2 Normativereferences ThisEuropeanStandardincorporatesbydatedorunda

23、eandafemaleelement,ofwhichthefemaleelementisfittedwithan automaticshutoffsystemwhichpreventsgasleakagewhenthetwoelementsareuncoupledEN561:2002(E) 5 4 Typesofcouplings Thisstandarddealswiththreetypesofquickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalves,accordingtothegasesforwhich theyareintended. Thesethreetypesar

24、ethefollowing: a) typeOoxygen; b) typeFfuelgas; c) typeNothergasesspecificforweldingprocesses. 5Installation Thequickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshallbeinstalledsothattheelementwiththeshutoffdeviceis locatedupstreamintermsofthegasflowfromthesource. 6Design requirements 6.1 Dimensions,nonintercha

25、ngeabilityandinterchangeability Inordertoensurethat: a) elementsofdifferenttypes,and; b) elementsofdifferenttypesandcouplingsforcompressedair,accordingtoISO6150, arenotinterchangeable,quickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesaccordingtothisstandardshallhavethe dimensionsspecifiedinFigure1andTable1forcou

29、plingmeansislefttothediscretionofthemanufacturer.EN561:2002(E) 7 Couplinganduncouplingshallbeachievedwitheaseandshallnotrequiretheuseoftools.Itshallnotbepossible todisengagethetwoelementsby: a) eitherasimplerotationofoneelementagainsttheother; b) ortheapplicationofalongitudinaltractionforceoflesstha

30、n1kN. Underserviceconditions,asdefinedbythemanufacturer,noundesireduncouplingshalloccur. Theopeningandclosureoftheshutoffsystemshalloccurautomatically. 6.4 Connections TheoutsidethreadedconnectionsshallconformwiththespecificationsgiveninEN560.Arighthandthreadshall beusedforcouplingsoftypesOandNandal

31、efthandthreadshallbeusedforcouplingsoftypeF. 6.5 Materials ThematerialsusedfortheconstructionofthesecouplingsshallconformwiththerequirementsgiveninEN29539. 6.6 Surfaceprotection Unlessotherwiseprotectedfromexternaldamagebymechanicalmeans,themaleelementshallbeconstructed frommaterialofasurfacehardnes

32、snotlessthan270HV10(Thisspecificationreferstothesurfacehardnessofthe standardizedexternalprofileoveralengthof15,2mm.). 7 Workingrequirements 7.1 Pressureresistance Quickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshallbedesignedforamaximumworkingpressureof2MPa(20bar). Whentestedundertheconditionsgivenin9.2,they

33、shallwithstand: a) atestpressureof4MPa(40bar)withoutpermanentdeformation,and; b) atestpressureof6MPa(60bar)withoutrupture. 7.2 Gastightness 7.2.1 Generalrequirements ThegeneralrequirementsforgastightnessgiveninEN29090shallbesatisfied. 7.2.2 Specificrequirements Duringtestsperformedaccordingto9.3,the

34、measuredleakagerate,inboththecoupledandtheuncoupled position,shallnotexceed10cm 3 /h. 7.3 Pressuredrop Atthemaximumoperatingpressureandtheflowratespecifiedbythemanufacturer,thepressurelossintroduced bythequickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshallnotexceed10%ofthemaximumoperatingpressure specified. 7

35、.4 Resistancetoflameflashback Afterhavingbeensubmittedtooneflashbackinaccordancewiththeconditionsspecifiedin9.4,quickaction couplingswithshutoffvalvesshallcontinuetoconformwiththerequirementsspecifiedinclause8.EN561:2002(E) 8 7.5 Resistancetotensileload Whentestedundertheconditionsindicatedin9.5,the

36、quickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshall: a) remainsuitablefornormalserviceandfulfilthetestrequirementsspecifiedinthisEuropeanStandard,after havingbeensubmittedtoanaxialloadof600N,and; b) remaincoupledandgastightafterhavingbeensubmittedtoanaxialloadof1kN. 7.6 Resistancetoradialloads Whentestedunde

37、rconditionsindicatedin9.6,thequickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshall: a) remainsuitablefornormalserviceandfulfilthetestrequirementsspecifiedinthisstandard,afterhavingbeen submittedtoaradialloadof1kN,and; b) remaincoupledandgastightafterhavingbeensubmittedtoaradialloadof2kN. 7.7 Endurance Whentest

38、edundertheconditionsspecifiedin9.7,thequickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshallremaingas tightaftertheyhavebeensubmittedtoaminimumof1000coupling/uncouplingcyclesatamaximumworking pressure(see7.2). 7.8 Otherfunctions Incaseswhereaquickactioncouplingwithshutoffvalveisassociatedwithanyotherfunctiontha

39、nthosespecified inthisstandard,itshallcomplywiththerequirementsofclauses6and7andshallthenbetestedinaccordance withclause8and9afterithasmettherequirementsnecessarytoperformtheotherfunction. 8General test conditions 8.1 General Thetestsdescribedhereunderarethetypetests. Unlessotherwisespecified,theysh

40、allbeperformedatanambienttemperatureof(23 2)Cusingoilfreeairorin nitrogen.Thepressureresistancetestshallbeperformedunderhydraulicpressure. Eightsamplesofthequickactioncouplingswithshutoffvalvesshallbetested.Thetwoelementsofeachofthese samplesshallbecarefullymarkedtoensurethatalltestsareperformedusin
