19、European Standard specifies a method for determining the volatile loss in mass of polyvinyl chloride floor coverings. 2 Principle The percentage loss of mass of a test piece taken from the suiface layer of a material during a specified heat treatment in the presence of an absorbent mateiial is measu

Place the test piece in a metal dish. Csing new charcoal for each test, pour approximately 120 O00 min3 of activat
21、ed charcoal into the bottom of the container. Place the dish on the charcoal and cover with a further 120 000 MIT? of charcoal. Repeat this procedure for the two other test pieces, then place the perforated cover on the container. Place the container in the oven which has previously been brought up
22、to a temperature of 100 OC. 24、y sealed container. 3.5 A balatzm with a sensitivity of 1 mg. 4 Sampling and preparation of test pieces Pake a representative sample from the available material. Pake three test pieces peeled or cut from the surface layer of the sample, the distance between the outer edge of the sample and the neare
25、st edge of the test pieces being at least 100 mm, of minimum area 2000 mm2. 5 Conditioning Condition the test pieces at a temperature of (23 f 2) OC and relative humidity of (50 f 5) % for a minimum of 24 h. Maintain these conditions when carrying out the test. Express the change in mass loss as a p
26、ercentage of the original mass for each test piece. Calculate the mean value for volatile loss for the three test pieces. 8 Test report The test report shall include the following information: a) a reference to this standard, i.e. EN 664; b) a complete identification of the product tested, including
27、 type, source, manufacturers reference nuinbeis; e) the previous histoiy of the sample; d) the mean valiie for volatile loss; e) any deviation from this standard which may have affected the results.
