20、avedaeratedconcrete(AAC)accordingtoprEN12602orin componentsoflightweightaggregateconcretewithopenstructure(LAC)accordingtoprEN1520. TestsaccordingtothisEuropeanStandardarenotrequiredforLACcomponentsifcorrosionprotectionisachieved byembeddingthereinforcingbarscompletelyinazoneofconcretewithclosedstru

21、ctureaccordingtoprEN 1520:2002,5.8.3.3. Threedifferentmethodsofshorttermtests(methods1to3)areprovided. Thetestmethodscanbeusedtoexaminethefundamentalsuitabilityofacorrosionprotectivesystemincombination withadefinedmanufacturingprocessfortheproductionofreinforcedcomponents.Theycanalsobeusedforcurrent

22、 productioncontrol. NOTE Thespecificationofthreedifferentshorttermtestmethodsisbasedonhistoricalreasonsandestablishedprocedures ratherthanontechnicalneeds. 2 Normativereferences ThisEuropeanStandardincorporatesbydatedorundatedreference,provisionsfromotherpublications.These normativereferencesarecite

25、pen structure(LAC)withembeddedreinforcingbarsarecutfromprefabricatedreinforcedcomponentsormanufactured separately.Thetestspecimensareexposedtoadefinedcorrosiveenvironmentforaspecifiedseriesofexposure cycles.Immediatelyaftertheendofthecorrosiveexposuretheconcreteandtheprotectivecoatingareremoved from

26、theembeddedbars.Thesteelsurfaceisexaminedvisuallyforcorrosionandtheareaofthecorrodedsurface isdeterminedandcomparedwiththelimitsaccordingtotherelevantproductstandardprEN1520orprEN12602. 4Apparatus a) Saw Asawforcuttingtestspecimensfromreinforcedcomponentswithoutexcessiveheatingorvibrations. b) Equip

27、mentforshorttermtestwithalternatewettingwithsodiumchloridesolutionanddryinginair(method1): 1) afacilityforwettingthetestspecimensfor2hwithsodiumchloridesolution(concentration3%bymass) byimmersioninatankorbycontinuousspraying; 2) aventilatedroomorcabinetfordryingthetestspecimensinairat(15to30) Cfor70

NOTE Toenableautomationofthewettinganddryingcyclesitcanbeconvenienttoaccommodatethewetting equipmentaccordingto1)intheventilatedroomorcabinetandtoinstallanautomatictemperaturecontrolsystem. d) Equipmentforshorttermtestwithalterna

31、tingtemperature(method3): ahumiditycabinetforthestorageofthetestspecimensinmoisturesaturatedair(relativehumidity 95%). Theairtemperatureinthecabinetshallalternateevery3hbetween(25 5) Cand(55 5) C.Theindicated temperaturesshallbereachedwithinapproximately1hineachcaseandthenbemaintainedconstantduring

32、therestofthe3hperiod. 5 Testspecimens 5.1General Thetestspecimensshallbe400mmlongprismaticsectionseithercutfromprefabricatedreinforcedcomponentsof currentproduction(normalcase)orespeciallymanufacturedforthispurposeunderconditionsascloseaspossible tothoseofcurrentproduction. Eachtestspecimenshallcont

33、ainatleasttworeinforcingbarscoatedwiththeprotectivesystemtobetested. Wherethetestspecimensareespeciallymanufactured,thebarsshallbefreefromcorrosionbeforeapplyingthe protectivesystem. Thewidthandtheheight(thickness)ofthetestspecimensshallbesuchthatthereinforcingbarsarecoveredonall sideswithatleastthe

34、minimumnominalconcretecoverrequiredintherelevantproductstandard.EN990:2002(E) 5 Ifthetestspecimensarecutfromprefabricatedreinforcedcomponents,theirheightshallextendoverthefullheight (thickness)ofthecomponent. Inordertoavoiddamageduetothecuttingoperationthetestspecimensshallbecutfromthereinforced com

35、ponents notlessthan2dafterautoclavinginthecaseofAAC; notlessthan7daftercastinginthecaseofLAC. Whenthetestspecimensaremanufacturedseparately,theconcretecoveratthebottomshallbeequaltothe minimumvaluerequiredintheproductstandardsprEN1520orprEN12602,respectively,andthecoveratthetop shallbeatleastequalto

36、thatvalue.Testspecimensrepresentingmultilayercomponentsshallhavethesame structureasthecorrespondingprefabricatedcomponents. Foreachcorrosiontestatleastthreetestspecimensarerequired.Threeadditionalcompanionspecimensshould beprovidedtoenablecomparisonofthecorrosionphenomenaofthereinforcementoftheexpos

37、edtestspecimens withthatofthereinforcementofunexposedspecimens.Thisisnotnecessaryifitiscertainthatthesteelsurface hasbeenfreeofanysignsofcorrosionbeforetheprotectivesystemhasbeenapplied. Thecompanionspecimensshallbestoredinanoncorrosiveenvironment(relativehumidityoftheair 70%)until theendofthecorros

38、iontests. NOTE Thepurposeofthecompanionspecimensistoenabletodifferentiatebetweenthecorrosionphenomenacausedby thetestconditionsandthecorrosionwhichpossiblymighthavebeenpresentonthesteelsurfaceinitially,beforethebeginni ng ofthetest,duetotheuseofreinforcementwhichhadbeencorroded(tothepermissibleexten

39、t)beforeapplyingofthecorrosi on protectivesystem.Onlythe(additional)amountofcorrosioncausedbythetestconditionsisofinterestfortheevaluationof the suitabilityofthecorrosionprotectivesystem. 5.2 Sealingoftheendfacesandconditioningofthetestspecimens Precautionsshallbetakensothatcorrosiondoesnotenterfrom

40、theendfacesofthetestspecimensintothe interior,e.g.byapplicationofanimpermeablelayerontheendfaces. Fortestsaccordingtomethod3thetestspecimensshallbeconditionedpriortothetestbystoringthemfor2h underwater(tapwater,approximately20 C)andsubsequentlyinairatnormalroomtemperature(15to30) C andnormalrelative

41、humidity(30to70)%foraperiodof14d. Thecorrosiontestingshallbestartednotlessthan7dafterautoclavinginthecaseofAACandnotlessthan28d aftermanufactureinthecaseofLAC. 6Corrosion tests 6.1 Shorttermtestwithalternatewettingwithsodiumchloridesolutionanddryinginair (method1) 6.1.1Exposure cycles Thetestspecime

42、nsshallbeexposedto10exposurecycles.Eachexposurecycleconsistsof 2hwettingwithsodiumchloridesolutionwithaconcentrationof3%bymass; 70hdryinginairunderconditionsindicatedin4.b2). Thedryingperiodmaybeextendedtoatotallengthof7d,ifrequired,e.g.atweekendsorholidays.Controlofhumidity andairmovementinordertoa

43、chievetheprescribedrateofevaporationisonlynecessaryforaperiodof70h.EN990:2002(E) 6 6.1.2 Examinationofsteelsurfaceandevaluationofresults Immediately(notmorethan4d)afterthelastdryingperiodtheconcreteandtheprotectivecoverareremovedfrom thereinforcingbars,andthesteelsurfaceisexaminedvisuallyfromallsides. Foreachtestspecimenthecorrodedareashallbedeterminedbymeasurementandcalculationandexpressedas apercentageofthetotalsurfaceareaofthereinforcementc
