ThisEuropeanStandardshallbegiventhestatusofanationalstandard,eitherbypublicationofanidenticaltextor byendorsement,atthelatestbyOctober2002,andconflictingnational

22、standardsshallbewithdrawnatthelatest byOctober2002. Duringthe6monthsenquiry,itappearedthattwotestswereomitted: longtermperformance; stress cracking. Afterdiscussions,theconclusionswerethattherewasinsufficientdataforstandardizationoftestconditionsand requiredproperties. ECISS/TC29/SC4agreedtoleavethe

25、eapplicationoffactoryappliedexternaltwolayerextrudedpolyethylenebased coatingsforthecorrosionprotectionoftubesandpipelinecomponents. Externalextrudedpolyethylenecoatingcanbeusedfortheprotectionofburiedorsubmergedtubesserviceat temperaturesupto+60Cfortype1and+30Cfortype2. Thecoatingsinthisstandardcan

26、beappliedtolongitudinallyorspirallyweldedandtoseamlesssteeltubesand componentsusedfortheconstructionofpipelinesforconveyingliquidsorgases. 38、g 7.1Surface preparation Twokindsofsurfacepreparationcanbeappliedaccordingtothetypeofcoating. 7.1.1 Type1 7.1.1.1Thetubeandcomponentsshallbeabrasiveblastcleaned.ThedegreeofcleanlinessshallbeSa21/2in accordancewithISO85011. 7.1.1.2Priortoabrasiveblastcleaning,thesteelsurfaceshallbedryandfreefromconta

39、mination(oil,grease, temporarycorrosionprotection,etc.)andsurfacedefects(slivers,laminations,etc.)detrimentaltothesurface preparationortotheadhesionofthecoating. 7.1.1.3Afterblastcleaning,thesurfaceofthetubeshallbeinspected.Allslivers,laminations,weldspatterand othersurfaceimperfectionsmadevisibleby

40、theblastcleaningprocessshallberemoved. Afterremovalofthesedefects,theresidualthicknessoftubeandcomponentsshallsatisfytheminimumtolerance requirementsspecifiedbytherelevantstandard.Alltreatedareasgreaterthan10cm shallbepreparedtoprovide aprofiletosatisfytheprovisionsof7.1. 7.1.1.4Tubeandcomponentssha

41、llbemaintainedatleast3Cabovethedewpointtemperaturepriortocoating. 7.1.1.5Contaminants(e.g.residualabrasivedust)shallberemovedpriortocoating. Chemicaltreatmentofthesteelmaybeusedinadditiontoabrasiveblastcleaning,byagreement. 7.1.1.6Atthetimeofapplication,thetemperaturerangeatthesurfaceofthetubetobeco

42、atedshallbedetermined inagreementwiththemanufacturersoftheproducts.EN10288:2002(E) 8 Thetemperatureholdingtimeofthetubeshallnotresultinoxidationofitssurface,detrimentaltothegoodquality andadhesionofthecoating. Thetemperatureofthetubeshallbemonitoredusingsuitablemeansinordertomakesurethattheapplicati

43、on conditionsarefullysatisfied. 7.1.2 Type2 Thismethodmayonlybeusedfortype2coatings.Whereatype2systemisspecified,achemicalcleaningand passivationprocessmaybeusedasanalternativetoblastcleaning. 7.2 Compositionofthecoating Thecoatingshallconsistoftwolayersandshallbeappliedinthefactoryinaccordancewitht
