Forwallthicknessesgreaterthan600mm,agreementshallbemadebetweenthepartiesconcernedontheexami nationprocedureandalsoontherecordingandacceptancelevels. 4.3 Maximumpermissiblesizeofdisco

36、orradiographicexamination,seeEN15592. 4.4Personnel qualification Itisassumedthatultrasonicexaminationisperformedbyqualifiedandcapablepersonnel.Inordertoprovethis qualification,itisrecommendedtocertifypersonnelinaccordancewithEN473.EN126801:2003(E) 7 4.5 Wallsectionzones Thewallsectionshallbedividedi
37、ntozonesasshowninFigure2.Thesesectionsrelatetothedimensionsofthe castingreadyforassembly(finishmachined). 4.6 Severitylevels Ifthepurchaserspecifiesdifferentseveritylevelsindifferentareasofthesamecasting,alloftheseareasshallbe clearlyidentifiedonthepurchasersdrawingandshallinclude: allnecessarydimen

39、5Examination 5.1Principles TheprinciplesofultrasonicexaminationgiveninEN5831,EN5832andEN5835shallapply. 5.2Material Thesuitabilityofmaterialforultrasonicexaminationisassessedbycomparisonwiththeechoheightofareference reflector(usuallythefirstbackwallecho)andthenoisesignal.Thisassessmentshallbecarried
40、outonselected castingareaswhicharerepresentativeofthesurfacefinishandofthetotalthicknessrange.Theassessmentareas shallhaveparallelsurfaces. ThereferenceechoheightaccordingtoTable2shallbeatleast6dBabovethenoisesignal. Iftheechoheightofthissmallestdetectableflatbottomedorequivalentsidedrilledholediame
41、terattheendofthe testrangetobeassessedislessthan6dBabovethegrasslevel,thentheultrasonictestabilityisreduced.Inthis case,theflatbottomedorsidedrilledholediameterwhichcanbedetectedwithasignalnoiseratioofatleast6dB shallbenotedinthetestreportandtheadditionalprocedureshallbeagreedbetweenthemanufacturera
