22、.EN12759:2001(E) 4 NOTEFortestpurpose,itisusuallydesirabletousetheliquid(s)withwhichthecoated fabricwillcomeintocontactduringuse.Whentestingtodeterminetheeffectofchemical solutions,theconcentrationofthesolutionsshouldbeappropriatetotheproposedapplication. WARNINGAppropriatesafetyprecautionsshouldbet
23、akenwhenpreparingandhandlingtest liquids,especiallythoseknowntobetoxic,corrosiveorflammable.Productsgivingofffumes shouldbehandledonlyunderanefficientlyventilatedhood,corrosiveproductsshouldnotbe allowedtocomeintocontactwiththeskinorordinaryclothing,andflammableproducts shouldbekeptawayfromanysource

Inaddition,attentionisdrawntothepossibledamagingoftestequipment(e.g.clampsor jaws)whenusingcorrosivetestliquids. 5Testconditionsformethods1and2 5.1Temperature Useatesttemperatureapproximatingthosefoundduringuse.Maintainthetest temperature( T)at T 2C. Unlessotherwisespecifiedoragreedupon,
25、testtemperature( T)shouldbeoneofthestandard temperaturesgiveninannexB. 5.2Immersionperiod Thefollowingimmersionperiodsarerecommended: 22h 0,25h;46h 0,25h;72h 2h;168h 2h;multiplesof7days 2h. NOTEWhentestingforchangesinphysicalproperties,itisadvisabletousesuchaperiodof immersionthatequilibriumisallowe
26、dtobereached.Todefinethisequilibrium,itis recommendedtocarryoutpreliminarymeasurementswithseveralperiodsofimmersion, recordingtheresultsasafunctionoftime.Wheneverpracticable,thetotalimmersionperiod shouldbechosentoextendfarbeyondthepointofmaximumvariation. 5.3Light Immersiontestsshallbeconductedinth

35、eused,removequicklyandwipethetestspecimenwith filterpaperorapieceoftextilewhichdoesnotdepositlint.Somedifficultymaybe experiencedincompletelyremovingviscous,nonvolatileliquidsbythismethodanditmay benecessarytodipthetestspecimenquicklyinasuitablevolatileliquidsuchasmethanoland againwipethetestspecime
