27、nottoaffecttheworking,the performanceandthesafetyofthecoffeemakerwhileinuse. Thematerialsincontactwithwater,coffeeandinfusionshallnotadverselyaffecttheorganolepticpropertiesofthe coffeeinfusion. Thecomponentsofclosingandsafetydevicesshallbemadewithmaterialsnotsubjecttocorrosion,dilatationor deformat
28、ionsotoaffecttheirworking.EN13248:2002(E) 7 4.2 Manufacturingrequirements 4.2.1 Cleaningandmaintenance Thecoffeemakershallbedesignedandconstructedinsuchawaythatmaintenanceissimplecleaningwithout usingspecialinstruments. Particularcareshallbetakenoverthefinishofinsidesurfacessothatcleaningcanbecarrie
29、doutthoroughlyand easily. 4.2.2Surfaces Thesurfacesofthecoffeemakershallbesmooth,continuous,uniform,withoutblistersorpitsandwithoutdefects, cracksorcuttingedgesthatmayinjuretheuser. 4.2.3Base Thebaseofthecoffeemaker,beitflatorotherwise,shallnotbeconvexinordernottoaffectitsstability,even whenplacedin
30、workingconditionsatthesafetypressure(seeFigure2). WhenmeasuredinaccordancewithFigure3,themaximumconcavityofaflatbaseshallnotbemorethan6of thebasediametermeasuredatroomtemperature. Thesehandlingdevicesshallbesafe,resistantanddurable. Whenitissubmittedtothetestsdescribedin5.3.1,thehandleshallnotsuffer
32、anybreakageorpermanent deformationanditsfixingsystemtothebodyofthecoffeemakershallnotfail. Thehandleandtheknobshallbedesignedinsuchawaythattheirtemperature,whenmeasuredaccordingto 5.3.2,isnothigherthanthefollowingvalues: a) metals 55C b) ceramic,glassandstone 66C c)plastics 70 C d)wood 89 C andinsuc
33、hawaythatthecoffeemakercanbehandledsafelywithouttheusercomingintocontactwithany partsofthecoffeemakerexceedingthemaximumtemperaturedescribedabove.EN13248:2002(E) 9 4.2.5 Pouringsystem Whentestedinaccordancewith5.2.2thecoffeeinfusionshallflowcleanlyfromthepouringsystem.Singledrops canflowbackontothes
34、idewallofthecoffeemaker,butthereshallbenocontinuousdripping. 4.2.6Percolator Theminimumdistancebetweentheboilerinternalbaseandthelowerendofthepercolatorshallbe2mm. Thebottomofthepercolatormaybefixedordetachableandreplacedbyareducingfilterasdefinedin3.1.10. 4.2.7Filter Thefilterholesshallallowthepass
35、ageofthecoffeeinfusionfromthepercolatortothecoffeedeliverysystemby retainingthechargeofcoffee. 4.2.8 Reducingfilter Theholesofthereducingfilter,ifprovided,shallallowthepassageofwatertothepercolator. 4.2.9 Sealingsystem Thesealingsystemshallbemadeusinggeometryandmaterialsfitforassuringthetightnessoft
36、heconnection betweentheboilerandthecoffeedeliverysystemunderthescheduledworkingconditions. Theoperationofthesealingsystemshallbecheckedafterbeingtestedinaccordancewith5.6.1. Aftercompletionofthistestthesealingsystemshallstillbeworkingperfectly. 4.2.10Boiler Theboilermaycompriseasingleelementoranasse
37、mblyofmoreelements. Theboilershapeshallnotcompromise,inanyway,thestabilityofthecoffeemaker. 4.2.11 Coffeedeliverysystem Thecoffeedeliverysystemshallallowthepassageofthecoffeeinfusionwithoutinjurytotheuser.Thesealing systemseatshallhavefeaturesfitforassuringthegripofthefilterandofthesealingsystem. 4.
38、2.12Lid Thelidofthecoffeeinfusioncontainer,ifany,canbefixedtothecoffeeinfusioncontainerorcanbeseparate.If thelidisseparateitshallnotfalloffwhenpouringthecoffeeinfusion. 4.2.13 Coffeeinfusioncontainer Thecoffeeinfusioncontainer,ifany,shallhaveacapacitygreaterthantheproducedvolume V p anditshallbe che

Ifthelidofthecof
40、feeinfusioncontainerisfixedtothecoffeeinfusioncontainer,thestabilityofthecoffeemaker shallnotbecompromisedwhenthelidisopen. ThestabilityofthecoffeemakerwithoutintegralcoffeeinfusioncontainerasdescribedinFigure1bshallnotbe compromisedwhenplacingthecoffeecupunderthecoffeedeliverysystemattheendofthedel
41、iveryofthecoffee infusion. Theserequirementsshallbecheckedinaccordancewith5.2.3. 4.2.16Closing/openingsystem Thecoffeemakershallbedesignedinsuchawaytopreventtheaccidentalandunintentionaloperationofthe closing/openingsystem. Moreover,thecoffeemakershallbesuchthatduringitsoperationtheclosing/openingsy
42、stemcanbeblockedor preventedfromopeningonlyiftherulesforcorrectandsafeuseofthecoffeemakercontainedintheinstructions forusearedisregarded. 4.3 Safetydevice Thecoffeemakershallhaveasafetydevice(see3.1.6).Itshallbeplacedonthepartoccupiedbythesteam. Thesafetydeviceshallassurethat,duringitsuse,thesafetyp
43、ressurevalue( P s )islowerthan400kPa. Thesafetydeviceshallbedesignedsothatduringitsoperationthesteamjetdoesnotaffectthestabilityofthe coffeemaker,norextinguishtheflame,whenheatingthecoffeemakerongasburner. Theserequirementsshallbecheckedinaccordancewith5.5. 4.4Pressure strength 4.4.1 Deformationstrength Whentestedinaccordanceto5.6.1,thecoffeemakershallnotundergoanypermanentdeformationthatcan compromiseitsuseandsafety Afterthetest,theconcavityofthebaseshallconformto4
