2、ng Sector Policy and Strategy Committee, was published under the authority of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee on 12 August 2002 BSI 12 August 2002 ISBN 0 580 40268 1 National foreword This British Standard is the official English language version of EN 13564-1:2002. EN 13564-1:2002 is a

3、candidate “harmonized” European Standard and fully takes into account the requirements of the European Commission mandate M118, Waste water engineering products, given under the EU Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC), and intended to lead to CE marking. The date of applicability of EN 13564

4、-1:2002 as a “harmonized” European Standard, i.e. the date after which this standard may be used for CE marking purposes, is subject to an announcement in the Official Journal of the European Communities. EN 13564-1 is the subject of transitional arrangements agreed under the European Commission man

5、date. The European Commission in consultation with Member States have agreed a transition period for the co-existence of “harmonized” European Standards and their corresponding national standard(s). It is intended that this period will comprise a period, usually nine months, after the date of availa

6、bility of the European Standard, during which any required changes to national regulations are to be made, followed by a further period, usually of 12 months, for the implementation of CE marking. At the end of this co-existence period, the national standard(s) will be withdrawn. In the UK, there ar

7、e no corresponding national standards. NationalregulationsforthechoiceandtheapplicationofthesetypesaregiveninannexA. 5Materials Whentestedinaccordancewith3.1or3.2ofprEN13

33、5642:2001thematerialsforantifloodingdevicesshall withstanddomesticwastewater fortypes0,1,2and3uptoatemperatureof75 C; fortypes4and5uptoatemperatureof93 C;EN135641:2002(E) 5 Materialswhicharenotinherentlycorrosionresistantshallbeprotectedaccordingly. 6 Performance,designandconstruction 6.1Generalrequ

34、irements Antifloodingdevicesshallautomaticallyclosewhenbackflowoccurs,i.e.whenorbeforethepipeisfilled,andthey shallallowthenormalflowtoreoccurwhenbackflowceases. Theautomaticclosuredeviceshallnotimpedetheflowunderlowflowconditions.Therefore,itshallopenwhenthere isadepthofwaterontheupstreamsideof50%o

35、fthepipediameteroramaximumof50mm. Internalsurfacesshallbesmooth,permittinganunhinderedflowofwastewater.Stepsininvertlevelshallbelimited to6mm. Inordertoensurethefreeoperationofthemovingpartsthereshallbeaminimumclearancearoundthe circumferenceofthemovingpartsandthebodyoftheantifloodingdeviceof0,05DNo

36、ftheoutletinmm,andnot lessthan6mmforoutletsgreaterthanDN100.Flapsshallnotbefloatedupwardsduringbackflow. Whentestedforeffectivenessinaccordancewith3.4.2.4,3.4.2.5and3.4.4ofprEN1 35642:2001theleakagefor eachindividualtestcycle(AorBorforthetestinginsitu)shallnotexceed0,5l. Thedimensionsofsocketsand/or

37、spigotsofantifloodingdevicesshallbecompatiblewithpipes/fittingsofthesame nominaldiameterinaccordancewithrelevantEuropeanStandards.Thenominalsizeoftheoutletshallnotbesmaller thanthenominalsizeoftheinlet. Allconnectionstoandfromandalljointsontheantifloodingdevicesshallbedesignedtobewatertightinaccorda

38、nce withtherelevantEuropeanStandardsorintheirabsencewithEN476. Themovingpartsofantifloodingdevicesshallbedetachable,orcapableofbeingdismantledinsitu. Themodeofactuationandthedirectionofclosingontheemergencyclosuredeviceshallbeclearlyanddurably indicated.Wherethisisactuatedbytherotationofanoperatinge

39、lementthisshallcloseclockwise. Wheresimulationofbackflowoftheautomaticclosuredeviceintheinstalledpositionisrequested,theantiflooding deviceshallbeprovidedwithappropriatemeansfortestinginsitu.Forthispurposesomeantifloodingdevicesmay bedisassembledandthefunctionalcomponentstestedseparately.Whererequir

40、ed,athreadedconnectionofG1/2in accordancewithISO2281shallbeprovided. 6.2Specialrequirementsofantifloodingdevicesoftypes0,1and2 Theoperationalclosuredeviceshallopen,toallowthepassageofwater,toadepthofflowofminimum70%ofthe internaldiameteroftheincomingpipe. Thebodyoftheantifloodingdevicesshallretainam

41、inimumof90%ofthecrosssectionalareaoftheincomingpipe. Whentestedinaccordancewith3.3ofprEN135642:2001thebodyincludingcoversshallbewatertightupto0,5bar. 6.3Specialrequirementsofantifloodingdevicesoftype3 Theautomaticclosuredeviceandtheemergencyclosuredeviceshallbefullyopenedexceptwhenbackflowoccurs. Wh

42、entheseclosuredevicesarefullyopenedtheyshallmaintainnotlessthan90%ofthecrosssectionalareaofthe incomingpipe. Theclosingprocessshallcommenceatthelatestwhenthebackflowlevelisequalto100mm,measuredfromthetop oftheoutletoftheantifloodingdevice.Theclosingtimeshallnotexceed60s.Whentestedinaccordancewith3.3
