This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the lat

16、est by January 2002, and conflicting national standards have to be withdrawn at the latest by January 2002. This standard specifies requirements for permanently installed climbing devices with a length not exceeding 5 m within the meaning of Council Directive 82/714/EEC of 4 October 1982 laying down

17、 technical requirements for inland waterway vessels. This standard contains bibliographical references. 19、climbing devices made of steel with a length not exceeding 5 m, used on inland navigation vessels. For the purposes of this standard the term permanently installed climbing devices covers ladders, step irons, dog step ladders and integral treads including handholds. This European Standard does not a

20、pply to stairs. These are covered by EN 790 and EN 13056. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications. 24、nd definitions For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 ladder climbing device consisting of spars, rungs and holders, see Figure 1 3.2 step iron climbing device consisting of a number of dog-step rungs located on top of one another in the vertical axis, see

25、Figure 2 3.3 dog-step ladder climbing device consisting of a number of rungs located on top of one another in the vertical axis, see Figure 3 3.4 integrated tread climbing device consisting of rungs installed in a number of vertically alternating cut-outs in a wall, see Figure 4EN 13574:2001 (E) 5 3

26、.5 cross-over for coupled vessels climbing device which enables the safe crossing between vessels with different deck levels in pushing formation 3.6 spar lateral bar of a ladder which holds the rungs 3.7 rung tread which is mounted between spars or vertical walls 3.8 rung for walls tread which is m

27、ounted directly on walls parallel to them 4 Safety requirements 4.1 General General tolerances: ISO 2768-c according to EN 22768-1. Permanently installed climbing devices shall be constructed in a way that avoids injuries, getting caught and an unsure foothold when mounting them. All the treads form

28、ing such a climbing device shall be uniform as shall the distances between the treads. The distance between the topmost tread and the top access of the climbing device shall not exceed 150 mm, the distance between the lowest tread and the access at the low end should correspond to the distances betw

29、een treads, but shall be between 100 mm and 300 mm, see Figure 1. 30、 1. The maximum vertical inclination of ladders shall not exceed 15 to allow easy mounting. They shall not overhang. 32、mensions in millimetres Figure 4 Integrated treads with example for welded pockets 4.6 Cross-over for coupled vessels If deck levels are different, cross-overs for coupled vessels are required to allow safe crossing between vessels in pushing formation. Cross-overs for coupled vessels shall be insta

33、lled on those sides of the pushing shoulder which are closer to the longitudinal axis of the ship. Cross-overs for coupled vessels shall be constructed as stairs. If this is not possible: cross-overs for coupled vessels shall be constructed as integrated treads or step irons if the pushing shoulder

34、has a closed profile; the dog-step ladder design shall be selected if the pushing shoulder is constructed as an I-bar, see Figure 3. 4.7 Spars Spars shall be constructed so as to ensure safe holding. The dimensions shall conform to Figure 1.EN 13574:2001 (E) 10 4.8 Rungs Rungs shall be constructed s

35、o as to ensure safe holding. They shall have a square profile tilted at an angle of 45 that shall be between 20 mm and 30 mm thick. 4.9 Rungs for walls Rungs for walls shall conform to EN 29519 Form A. 4.10 Handhold The upper access of the climbing device shall be provided with a handhold to enable

36、sure crossing-over from the climbing device to the access and vice versa. A round profile having a diameter of 20 mm to 34 mm shall be used. If the handhold is mounted directly on deck, dimensions shall conform to Figure 1. For cross-overs between coupled vessels conforming to 4.6 and for climbing d

37、evices giving access to cargo holds, handholds are not necessary if the cargo hold coaming ensures safe holding. Instead of handholds, vertical tube constructions may be used that rise at least 1,15 m above the top step. 4.11 Strength Dimensions and welds of the rungs and handholds shall be such tha

38、t they withstand a load of 1,0 kN. The breaking safety shall be 5:1. Dimensions and welds of spars and handholds shall be such that they withstand loads of 1,5 kN per every 2 m of ladder without permanent deformation. These loads shall be applied at the structurally weakest points. 5 Material 5.1 Ge

39、neral Climbing devices made of steel shall conform to 5.2 and 5.3. 5.2 Semi-finished products The rungs shall be made of square steel conforming to ISO 1035-2. The spars and holders shall be made of flat steel conforming to ISO 1035-3. The handholds shall be made of round steel conforming to ISO 103

40、5-1 or steel tubes to ENV 10220. NOTE In cargo holds of tank vessels only solid material should be used. 5.3 Steel quality The rungs, spars, holders and handholds shall be made of steel Fe 360 conforming to ISO 630 as the minimum quality. NOTE As an alternative, shipbuilding steel with comparable me
