23、ype(MSLD)accordingtotheminimum requirementsofTable1isused. 4.1.2 Calibrationleaks Atleastonecalibrationleakfordischargetovacuumoragainstatmosphericpressureshallbeused.Theseare usedforthedirectcalibrationoftheMLSD(ifabuiltincalibrationleakdoesnotexist)orforsystemcalibration (responsetime,sensitivity)

24、.Ifrequired,standardleaksshallbeused.SeeTable2. 4.1.3 Auxiliarypumpingsystem Anauxiliarypumpingsystemshouldbeusedif: theobjectvolumeordesorptiongasloadaretoolargeforthebuiltinpumpsoftheMSLD; theleakageratetobemeasuredistoolargeforthemeasurementrangeoftheMSLD. Theauxiliaryvacuumpumpingsystemshallcomp

25、lywiththeminimumrequirementsofTable4.EN13625:2001(E) 5 4.1.4Connections Pipesandvalvesofsuitableconductancewithaportforvacuumpressuremeasurement,previouslytestedfor tightnesssothattheycannotinfluencethetestresults,arerequiredfor: connectionoftheobjecttotheMSLD; connectionofthecalibrationleaktothesys

26、tem; connectionoftheobjecttotheauxiliarypumpingsystem(ifnecessary). Thereshouldbeadevicefordischargingthetracergasoutsidethetestarea. 4.1.5Tracer gas Puretracergasoraknownandhomogeneousmixturecontainingtracergasshallbesuppliedtoensure repeatability. 4.1.6 Testconditionmeasurements Calibratedpressure

27、gaugesandthermometersarerequiredtomonitortheobjectconditions.Ifrequired,ambient condition(pressure,temperatureandhumidity)shallalsobemeasured.Responsetimeshallbemeasured. 4.1.7 Cleaninganddryingmaterialandequipment Solventsordegreasingagentsshallbeavailabletocleanthesurfacestobetested.Dryingisimport

28、anttoeliminate vapoursthatcanincreasetheevacuationtimeorcaninterferewithtracergasdetection. 4.2 Vacuumtechnique 4.2.1 Vacuumtechniquetotal(A.1) 4.2.1.1 Hoodorrigidchamber Thehoodcanbefabricatedfromaplasticfilmthatisabletoencloseentirelytheobject.Itshouldbeleaktight enoughtokeepthetracergasconcentrat

29、ionconstant. Therigidchambershallbeleaktightandenclosetheobjectentirely.Itshouldalloweasyhandlingofthetestobject. Itshallbeevacuabletopurgetheinternalvolume.Suitablecrossinginthewallsshallallowtheconnections.The chamberpressureshallbemeasured. NOTE Theenclosureshouldpresentaleakagerate10timeslesstha

30、nthemaximumallowedratespecified. 4.2.1.2Time measurement Ifthetestisperformedusinganaccumulationtechnique,thetimefromtheinitialtracergasapplicationshallbe measured. 4.2.2 Vacuumtechniquepartial(A.2) 4.2.2.1 Cupsorpartialhoods Partsoftheoutersurfaceoftheobjectarecoveredtoadmitselectivelythetracergast

31、otheareasundertest.Cups shallhavesoftedgesorgasketstoadhereasmuchaspossibletothesurface. Theplastichoodsshallbesealed,forexamplewithadhesivetape.Itshouldbeleaktightenoughtokeepthetracer gasconcentrationconstant.EN13625:2001(E) 6 4.2.3 Vacuumtechnique(local)(A.3) 4.2.3.1 Spraygun Aspraygunwithregulat

32、ingvalveisneeded.Ifatracergasmixtureisrequiredforthetest,themixturecanbe obtainedusingaproportioningspraygun. 4.2.3.2 Calibrationleak Aconductanceleak,calibratedfordischargetovacuumshallbeusedtoverifytheresponsetimeandthesignal amplitudeatthescanningspeed. Thiscalibrationleakshouldbeinthesamerangeas

33、theexpectedmaximumleakagerate. 5 TracergasmethodGroupBtechniques(gasflowingoutoftheobject) 5.1 EquipmentandmaterialsrequiredforallgroupBtechniques 5.1.1Leak detector ExceptfortheAmmoniaTechnique(B.1)aleakdetectorwithrecorderisrequired.Theleakdetector(exceptfor bombingtest)shallbeabletosampleatarelat

34、ivelyhighpressure(20kPato100kPa).TheMSLDshallhavea regulatinginletvalveorasamplingprobetoadjusttheinletpressuretothemaximumworkingpressure. 5.1.2 Calibrationleaks Calibrationleaksfordischargetoatmosphereshallbeused.Theseleaksshouldhavealeakagerateclosetothe maximumallowableinthecaseofacceptancetesto

35、rclosetotheminimumrateinleaklocation. 5.1.3 Testconditionmeasurements Calibratedpressuregaugesarerequiredtomonitortheobjectpressure.Ifnecessary,overpressureprotection devicesshallbeusedtoavoiddamagetotheobjectanddangertopersonnel.Ifrequired,theobjecttemperature andambientconditions(pressure,temperat

36、ureandhumidity)havealsotobemeasured. Responseandimpregnationtimeshallbemeasured. 5.1.4Connections Pipingsystem,withportforpressureand,ifnecessary,temperaturemeasurement,previouslytestedforleak tightness,isrequiredfor: fillingtheobjectwithtracergas; connecting(ifnecessary)anyenclosuretotheLDandtothep

37、umpingsystem. Pipingsystemisalsorequiredtodischargethetracergasoutsidetheareawherethetestisbeingconducted. 5.1.5Gases Puretracergasoraconstantmixturecontainingtracergasshallbesuppliedatthepressurerequiredforthetest. Otherdry(ordried)gasesarenecessaryforpurgingtheobjectortheenclosures.EN13625:2001(E)

38、 7 5.2 Ammoniatechnique(B.1) 5.2.1 Chemicalmaterial Thereagentsaregenerallycolourchangingcompounds,eitherinliquidformorsupportedonpaperband.Their reactivityshallbeverifiedbeforethetest. Forpreparationaftercleaning,passivationusingdilutenitricacid(avolumefractionof5%)isrequired.The applicationofthere

39、agentismadeusingaspraygunorabrush.Warm,dryairorinertgas,isneededtodrythe appliedreagent.Thepaperbandisfixedwithadhesivetape. Thetracergasshallbedryammoniaoracertifiedmixtureofammoniaininertgas,havingapressureand concentrationsufficienttomeetthetestspecifications. 5.2.2 Drying,pressurization,ammoniad

40、ischarge Asuitablepumpingsystemisnecessaryfordryingafterthecleaningpassivation,forpressurizationwithammonia mixtureandfortheremovaloftracergasfromthesystem. 5.2.3 Pressureandconcentrationcontrol Anabsolutegaugewithafullscalerangeof0,4Mpato0,5MPaisneededforevacuation/pressurization monitoring. Ammoni

41、aconcentrationshallbecheckedusingreactivetubesinthefollowingranges: concentrationfortest:range 1%to10% . 10%to100%; concentrationafterpurging:range 510 6 to50010 6 . 0,0510 6 to510 6 . pHIndicatingequipmentisrequiredtocheckthewastesbeforethedischarge. 5.2.4 Ammoniadisposalequipment Equipmenttodischa

42、rgeandtreatusedammonia,inaccordancewithlocalregulations,shallbeused. 5.2.5 Illuminationandvisualequipment Thereagentcoveredsurfaceshallbeexaminedwithwhitelight,eitherdirectlyorwithinstrumentsabletoshow spotslargerthan1mm.Aminimumilluminationof350lxshallbeattainedandmeasured. 5.3 Vacuumboxtechnique,f
