35、andatatemperatureanywherebetweenthedevicesspecifiedmaximumandminimumtemperatures,condense fromgasorvapourdirectlytosolid,e.g.CO 2 ,thedesignshallbesuchastoavoidreductionofthedischargearea belowthatrequiredduetoaccumulationofsolidproduct. 4.3Materials NOTE Thisclauseindicatesimportantmaterialproperti

37、ithEN12521:1998orprEN12522asappropriatetothespecified minimumtemperature.Thestrengthofthematerialsshallbeadequatefortheirdutyatthemaximumspecified temperature. 4.3.3Corrosion resistance Inadditiontonormalatmosphericcorrosiveagentsassociatedwithindustrialatmospherestheenvironment surroundingcryogenic
38、vesselsischaracteristicallyoneofpersistentlowambienttemperaturestogetherwithhigh humidity.Thusparticularcaremustbetakentoensurethattheselectedmaterialsoftheburstingdisc,together withanycoating,andoftheburstingdiscsafetydeviceareappropriatesuchthatprematurefailureoranyother malfunctioncannotoccur.Alu
39、miniumdiscsshallbecoatedwithacorrosionresistantpolymerontheatmospheric sideonly. Somecopperalloysaresusceptibletostresscorrosioncracking,consequentlycarefulconsiderationshallbegiven beforeselectionofthesematerialsforcomponentsunderstress. 4.3.4 Oxygencompatibility Ifthespecifiedminimumtemperatureise
40、qualtoorbelowtheboilingpointofairortheburstingdiscassemblyis intendedforservicewithoxygenoroxidisingproducts,thematerialsshallbeoxygencompatibleinaccordance withEN17971. 4.3.5Acetylene compatibility Metallicmaterialsshallcontainlessthan70%copperifspecifiedforusewithmixturescontainingacetylene. 4.3.6
41、Nonmetallic materials Nonmetallicmaterialsare,sofar,wellestablishedforusefornonintegralburstingdi scsandforsealsandgaskets. Ifsuchmaterialsaretobeusedforstructuralparts,suchastheholder,theyshallhavepropertiesappropriateto theapplicationandatleastmeettherequirementsof4.3.2. Nonmetallicmaterialsshalla

43、ingshallhavetheeffectivenessofthatcoatingdemonstratedpriortopressuretesting.Thepressure testmediumshallbecleanwaterforhydraulictestsoroilfreeairoraninertgassuchasnitrogenforpneumatic tests. 5.2 Additionaltestsforburstingdiscsafetydeviceswithnonreplaceableburstingdisc assemblies 5.2.1Leak tests Eachb
