Thetwohalvesofthebro

Thetestingmachineshallbeofsuitablecapacityandsensitivitysuchthatthespecimencanbeexpectedtofracture inthatpartoftherangewhichisce
25、rtifiedtobeaccurateto2%oftheindicatedload,thatisnormallyintheupper fourfifthsoftherange. 5.2 Apparatusspecifictoeachtest 5.2.1 Flexuraltest Atestbedconsistingoftwosteelsupportingrollersoflengthsbetween44mmand50mmand(100,5)mm diameter,spaced(100,00,5)mmapart,andathirdsteelrollerofthesamelengthanddiam
26、eterlocatedcentrally betweenthesupportrollers.Thethreeverticalplanesthroughtheaxesofthethreerollersshallbeparalleland remainparallel,equidistantandnormaltothedirectionoftheprismundertest.Oneofthesupportingandthe loadingrollershallbecapableoftiltingslightlytoallowauniformdistributionoftheloadoverthew
27、idthoftheprism withoutsubjectingittoanytorsionalstresses. 5.2.2 Compressiontest a)Theuppermachineplatenshallbeabletoalignfreelyascontactismadewiththespecimen,buttheplatens shallberestrainedfromtiltingwithrespecttooneanotherduringloading. b)Twobearingplatesmadeoftungstencarbideorofsteelofsurfacehardn
28、essatleast600HV(VICKERS hardnessvalue,seeENISO65071).Theplatesshallbe40,0mmlong,(40,00,1)mmwideand10mmthick. Thedimensionaltoleranceforthewidthshallbebasedontheaverageoffoursymmetricallyplacedmeasurements. Theflatnesstoleranceforthecontactfacesshallbe0,01mm. c)Jigtoensurecorrectlocationofthespecimen
29、andbearingplatesinrelationtotheplatensonthetestmachine. 6Procedure 6.1Flexural test Threespecimens40mmx40mmx160mmpreparedasspecifiedinEN138921shallbetested. Testeachspecimen28daysaftercastingandimmediatelyonbeingremovedfromthestorageatmosphere. Wherethemanufacturecandemonstratethattherequiredclasses
30、ofpropertiescanbeachievedatanearlierage, thisagemaybeincludedinthedesignationprovidedalldeclaredclassvaluesareachievedatthisage. Thesidesofeachspecimenshallbewipedwithacleanclothtoremoveanyloosematerial.Thespecimenshallbe weighed,thewidthanddepthofthespecimenshallbemeasuredmidwayalongitslengthandthe
31、detensityshall becalculated. NOTE:Thedepthisthedimensionbetweenthetwocastsides. Thebearingoftherollersshallbewipedtoremoveanygritorothermaterial,andthespecimenshallbeplacedwith onesideascastcentrallyinbothdirectionsonthesupportingrollers.EN138922:2002(E) 6 Theloadshallbeappliedwithoutshockatauniform
32、rateof(5010)N/secuntilfailure. Themaximumloadapplied, F f inN(Newtons),shallberecorded.Thetwohalfspecimensshallbereturnedtothe storagechamberandshallbekeptthereifrequired,forcompressivestrengthmeasurements. Anyloosegritorothermaterialshallberemovedf
34、romthesidesofthespecimenascast.Thebearingsurfaceof thetestingmachineandthebearingplatesshallbewipedwithacleanclothandthespecimenshallbeplacedin themachineusingthejiginsuchamannerthattheloadisappliedtothesideandnottothetopascast. Theprismshallbearrangedsothatthecastendprotrudes16mmbeyondtheneareredge
35、ofthebearingplates. Anyspecimensshallbediscardedthatdonotprovideacubeofsolidmaterialbetweenthetopandbottombearing plates.Thespecimenshallbecarefullyalignedsothattheloadwillbeappliedtothewholewidthofthefacesin contactwiththeplates.Usingthelocationjig,theassemblyshallbecentredcarefullyonthelowerplaten
36、ofthetest machine. Theloadshallbeappliedwithoutshockandincreasedcontinuouslyatarateof(2400200)N/secuntilfailure. Themaximumloadapplied, F C inN(Newtons),shallberecordedduringthetest. Thecompressivestrengthshallbecalculatedasthemaximumloadcarriedbythespecimendividedbythecross sectionalareaofthespecim
