28、itionedatanequalradialspacingof45sothatwhenthedepth gaugeisplacedonthefloor,withitsfeetonthemarks,thegaugesliderrestsonthecentrelineofthewheeltrack. 5.3Depthgauge Thegaugeusedtomeasurethedepthofwearshallbecapableofbeingreadtothenearest10m.Thedistance betweenthefeetofthegaugeshallenableittostraddleth
29、ewheeltrackofthetestmachine.Theendoftheslider contactingthefloorshallberounded. Asteelshimof1,50mmto2,00mmthicknessisusedtosettheinitialpositionofthegaugesliderfromwhich subsequentreadingsaretaken.Alternatively,asetofstandardfeelergaugesmaybeused.Thedepthgaugemay thenbeaccuratelyresetifnecessaryduri
30、ngthecourseofthetestingandcheckedagainattheendoftestinginthe eventofbatterypowerfailure,etc.EN138924:2002(E) 6 6 Preparationofspecimens ThewearresistanceBCAshallbemeasuredon3specimensmadeinaccordancewithEN138921. Squareslabswithaminimumedgelengthof500mmandaminimumthicknessof50mmshallbeusedas specime
31、ns. Wherethescreedmaterialisnotdesignedtobeappliedatthisthicknessitshouldbeappliedontoaconcrete substrateaccordingtoEN138921. Thecontactfaceandtheoppositefaceofthespecimenshallbeparallelandflat. Itshallbeensuredthatthetestspecimenissurfacedryandfreeofcontaminants.Anydust,dirtordebrisshallbe removedw
32、ithabrushorbyvacuuming. 7Procedure 7.1Depthgauge Thedepthgaugeshallbeplacedonasuitableflatsurface:themarkingouttemplatecanbeused.Thepositionsof thethreefeetofthegaugeshallbemarkedsothatitcanberepositionedforlaterreadings.Insertthe1,50mm 2,00mmsteelshimundertheendoftheslider,ensuringthattheshimisinco
33、ntactwiththesurfaceandthatthe endofthesliderisincontactwiththeshim.Thereadingofthegaugeshallbesettozero.Thisenablesdepth readingstoberecordedaspositivevalues.Theshimshallberemovedanditshallbecheckedthatthegauge readstheshimthicknesscorrectlywhentheendofthesliderisincontactwiththeflatsurface.Alternat
34、ively,ifa specialjigissuppliedwiththegauge,themanufacturersinstructionsshallbefollowed. 7.2Settingup Themarkingouttemplateshallbeplacedinpositiononthescreedsurfaceandmarkthelocationsofthegauge feetthroughthe24holesusingamarkerpen.Thelocationsofthetworestrainingpinsshallbemarkedthroughthe holesontheb
35、arofthetemplate.Thetemplateshallberemoved,thetestreferencenumbershallbewrittenonthe specimenatthecentreofthetestareaandthenumberofthegaugepositions1to8shallbemarkedonthe specimen.Themarksandnumbersshallbecapableofbeingclearlyseenbeforeandafterthetestiscarriedout. Thedepthgaugeshallbeplacedaccurately
36、ateachofthe8measuringpositionsonthespecimenandtheinitial readingsshallberecordedtothenearest10 m m. Twonominal10mmdiameterrestrainingpinholesshallbedrilledatthemarkedpositions.Thedebrisanddust shallberemovedwithabrushorbyvacuuming. Thetestmachineshallbeassembledatthetestlocationandtherestrainingpins
37、shallbeinsertedthroughthefeet intotheholesinthetestspecimen.Itshallbecheckedthattheabrasionheadisfreetorotate. Thetestspecimenwiththemachineattachedmay,ifrequired,beplacedontoabedofsandorotherconformable materialsuchthatitisfullysupportedandcannotmovelaterally. 7.3Testoperation Thetestshallberunfor(
38、285010)revolutionsoftheabrasionheadusingasuitablerevolutioncounter. NOTE Screedsurfaceswithapoorresistancetoabrasionmaywearrapidlyunderthetest.Thesurfacematrixmay sometimesbelostwithinafewminutesandwhereaveryroughexposedaggregatetextureresults,thetestmachinemaybe subjecttoseverevibrationwhichcouldca
39、usedamage.Ifthishappens,orifthewearreachestheconcretesubstrate,thetest shallbestoppedimmediately.Inthiscase,includethenumberofrevolutionsandotherrelevantinformationinthetestreport .EN138924:2002(E) 7 Therestrainingpinsshallberemovedandthetestmachineshallbemovedawayfromthetestposition.Anydustor debri
