Theabrasionresistanceisdeterminedbythechangeinsurfaceprofile.EN138925:2003

23、(E) 5 5Apparatus 5.1 Testrig 5.1.1General TheprincipleofthetestrigisshowninFigure1. NOTE ThetestrigisthesameasinEN1818,exceptfortheswivelcastorandtheload. 5.1.2Supporting table Thesupportingtableshouldbelevelandatleast700mmx800mm.Itsupportsthetestspecimenwhileitis movedundertheloadedcastor,described

24、in5.1.3.Thesupportingtableandspecimenmoveunderthecastor wheelintwodirectionsatrightangle,withalongitudinalmovementof(390 2) mmwithafrequencyof (7,00,4)cycles/minute,andtransversemomentof(2602)mmandafrequencyof(1,720,1)cycles/minute. Forthewearonthetestareatobeuniform,thetwomovementsshallnotbecoordin

25、ated,butmaybedrivenfor examplebyacommonmotorwitharollerchaintransmissionasdescribedinISO606,withchainwheelswithfifty sevenandfourteenteethrespectively. Theratioofthefrequenciesshallbe4,070,03toensurethatthewheeldoesnotfollowthesamepathallthe time. 5.1.3Swivel castor TheswivelcastorisshowninFigure2.T

26、hewheelshallbemadeofcasehardenedsolidsteelwithVickers hardness 735HV(throughoutatleasttheouter1,5mmoftheradius).Asuitablesteelqualityis16NiCrS4 accordingtoEN10084.Thediametershallbe(125 2)mm,thewidthshallbe(40 1)mm.Thetravellingsurface shallbecylindricalwithchamferededgewithradius1mm.Thecastorshallb

27、eabletomovefreelyabouttheswivel axis. Theswivelaxisshallbefreetomovevertically(whichmaybeachievedwithrollerbearingsatbothendsofthe axis,atleast300mmapart)andshallbeloadedsothatthetotalloadappliedbythecastoris(2000 10)N.The overhangshallbe(45 1)mm,seeFigure2. 5.2 Suctiondeviceforremovingabradedmateri

28、al Thetestrigshallbeequippedwithsuctionnozzlesonbothsidesofthewheelinitstravellingdirection.Thenozzles shallbeconnectedtovacuumdevices,forexamplevacuumcleaners.Thesuctionarrangementshallhavesucha capacitythattheabradedmaterialiscontinuouslyremovedfromthespecimensurfaceduringthetest. 5.3Measuring bri

29、dge ArigidsteelbridgeshallbeusedasshowninFigure3.Thisshallhave5locatingpositionsineachofwhichthe depthgauge(5.4)shallseatfirmlyandreproducibly. 5.4Depth gauge Thegaugeusedtomeasurethedepthoftheprofileshallbecapableofbeingreadtothenearest10m.Theend oftheslidercontactingthesurfaceshallberounded.EN1389

30、25:2003(E) 6 6 Preparationoftestspecimens Thewearresistancetorollingwheelshallbemeasuredon3specimenmadeinaccordancewithEN138921. Squareslabswithminimumedgelengthof500mmandwithathicknessof 50mmshallbeusedasspecimens Wherethescreedmaterialisnotdesignedtobeappliedatthisthicknessitshouldbeappliedontoaco

31、ncrete substrateaccordingtoEN138921. Thecontactsurfaceandtheoppositefaceofthespecimenshallbeparallelandflat. Itshallbeensuredthatthetestspecimenissurfacedryandfreeofcontaminants.Anydust,dirtordebrisshallbe removedwithabrushorbyvacuuming. 7Procedure 7.1Profile measurement Themeasuringbridgeshallbepla

32、cedonthetestspecimeninthepositionsasshowninFigure4.Thepositionof thefeetofthemeasuringbridgeshallbemarkedonthesurfaceofthetestspecimen.Thedepthofthesurface belowthebridgeateachofthemeasuringpointsshallbedeterminedwithadepthgaugeandrecorded. Alternatively,theprofilemeasuringdeviceofEN1818:1998clause4

33、.2,maybeused. 7.2 Testoperation Thetestspecimenshallbefixedonthesupportingtableinsuchawaythattheabradedareawillbecentralised. Theapparatusandthesuctiondeviceshallbestartedandtheloadedwheelshallbeloweredgentlyintocontact withthetestspecimen.Thedurationofthetestshallbe10000 cyclesindirectionofthelongm

34、ovement (approximately24h).Ifnecessary,thiscanberunintermittently. Ifseveredamageoccurs,orthewearreachestheconcretesubstrate,thetestshallbestoppedimmediately.and thenumberofcyclesrecorded.Inthiscasethescreedmaterialfailedthetest. 7.3 Determinationofwearprofile Theprofilemeasurementasgivenin7.1shallb

35、erepeated.Foreachmeasuringpoint,thedepthofwearis calculatedfromthedifferenceinthebeforeandafterreadings.Themeandepthofwearinmicronsshallbe calculated.Theabrasionquantityshallbecalculatedtothefollowingequation: d RWA 11 , 0 (1) where d isthemeandepthinm NOTE Thisequationassumesthattheabradedareais110
