Theyareprovidedwith binding elements; steeringfacilitiesandplainorrollerbearings; asizeadjustment. 4.3 Safetyrequirements 4.3.1 Protrudingpartsandedges Duringthetestin5.3.2,protrudingpartssuchasscrewsorleverendsshallnottouchtheoutsi
24、deofthetest cylinderiftheyprotrudebymorethan10mmwithlessthan100mm 2 crosssectionalarea,andarenotshieldedin alldirectionsbyanadjacentsurfaceofequalheight,whosedistanceisnotmorethan25mmfromtheendofthe protrudingpart. Alledgesontherollerskatewhichcancomeintocontactwithpartsofthebodyduringnormaluseshall
25、be renderedsafe,orshapedsothatinjuriescannotoccur. Testinginaccordancewith5.3.3. 4.3.2Binding elements Bindingselementsshallpreventunintentionaldetachmentoftherollerskatefromtheshoeevenunderload. Compliancewiththisrequirementsisacceptedwhennobreakage,disconnection,looseningordetachmentoccurs inrolle
26、rskateswithpermanentbindingtotheshoeduringthetestin5.3.7.2,andinrollerskateswithdetachable bindingtotheshoeduringthetestin5.3.7.1.Therollerskatebindingsandanybracingshallnotbreakduringthe bendingtestin5.4.1.EN13899:2003(E) 7 4.3.3 Displacementsafety Thesafetylockingorfasteningelementsshallnotbecomed
27、etachedorloose.Compliancewiththisrequirementis acceptedwhenthelockingorfasteningelementsdonotbecomedetachedorloose,anddonotbreakafterafrontal collisionasin5.3.8andafterendurancetestingasin5.3.10. 4.3.4Connecting fillet Theconnectingfilletontheheeloftherollerskateshallwithstandloadencountered. 28、ancewiththisrequirementisacceptedwhen,afterthetestsin 5.3.8and5.3.10,theconnectingfilletisneitherbrokennoristhereanyapparentpermanentdeformation, 5.4.2,thereductioningroundclearanceinthecentreisnotmorethan5%betweentheaxles. 4.3.5 Startingand/orbrakingdevice Thestartingand/orbrakingdeviceshallbedesig
29、nedsothatitisstrongandsecuredagainstunscrewing. Compliancewiththisrequirementisacceptedwhen, a) afterthetestin5.3.9,thestartingand/orbrakingdeviceisneitherloosened,deformed,detachednorshowing othersignsoffunctionaldamage; b) nounscrewingofthestartingand/orbrakingdeviceisfoundduringthetestin5.3.5. 30、eclearancebetweenthebottomedgeofthestartingand/orbrakingdeviceandthegroundshallnotbelessthan 10mm. 4.3.6 Rollinggear Duringoperation,therollinggearshallwithstandshockloading,continuousloadingandstaticloading.Itshallbe securelyfastenedtotheshoeplateandsecuredagainstunintentionaldetachment. Compliance
31、withtechnicalsafetyrequirementsisacceptedwhennopartshavebecomelooseordetachedand thereisnoimpairmentofserviceabilityfollowingthetestsin5.3.8,5.3.10and5.4.2. 4.3.7Axles Theaxlesshallbedesignedandfittedsothatinoperationnoaxlescanbecomeloose,displacedordeformed.The wheelsshallbesecuredontheaxlesagainst
32、unintentionaldetachment.Compliancewiththeserequirementsis acceptedwhen,afterthetestsin5.3.8,5.3.10and5.4.2,noaxlebecomesloose,displacedorsodeformedasto impairserviceability,andtherollerssecuredtotheaxleshavenotbecomedetached. Therollinggearaxlesincludingassociatedcomponentsmayonlyprotrudebynomoretha
33、n3mmbeyondtheouter edgesofthewheels,whentheirendsareroundedwitharadiusofatleast5mm. 4.3.8Wheels Thewheelsshallbemadeofslipresistantmaterial.Compliancewiththisrequirementisacceptedwhenthe followingcoefficientsoffriction m 0 areobtainedduringthetestinaccordancewith5.3.5. 34、Followingtheendurancetestin5.3.10,thewheelshallnothaveloosenedonthebearingstotheextentthatthereis adangerofitslidingoffthebearings,orshownothersignsoffunctionaldamage.EN13899:2003(E) 8 4.3.9Bearings Thebearingsshallbeconstructedsothatnojammingofthewheelscanoccurduringoperation.Theyshallbe designedso
35、thatmaintenanceinaccordancewiththeinstructioncanbecarriedoutwithoutreducingoperating safety.Dustprotectioncoversshallnotcomelooseduringoperation.Thebearingsshallbedesignedsothatthey arestillserviceableaftertheendurancetestin5.3.10. 4.3.10 Selflockingnutsandotherfixings Inthecaseofselflockingnuts,the
36、entirethreadlengthofthenutanditslockingpartshallbefullyengagedwith thebolt.Selflockingnutsandotherfixingsloosenedonnumerousoccasionsformaintenance,reassemblyor adjustmentproceduresshallbesuitableforthisapplication.Theinformationsuppliedbythemanufacturershall drawattentiontothepossiblelossoftheselflo
37、ckingactionofthenutsandotherfixings. 4.3.11Steeringfacility Whentherollerskatehasasteeringfacility,thisshallbedesignedsothat,withthesmallestcurveradiusandthe therebyassociatedmaximumload,nocontactcanoccurbetweenwheelsandpartsoftherollerskate.Ifthesteer ingisadjustable,thewheelsshalltouchnopartsofthe
38、rollerskateevenatthelowesttensionduringuse.Compli ancewiththisrequirementisacceptedifnocontacthasbeenestablishedbetweenwheelsandanypartsofthe rollerskateduringthetestin5.3.4.Followingtheendurancetestin5.3.10,nopartsofthesteeringmechanismshall bebrokennorhavebecomedetached.
