19、ehoweverknown.Thesensoryperceptionofglossunderasuitableilluminationresultsfroma physicalstimulusduetoreflectionoflightfromasurface.Thisreflectionisdefinedbyanindicatrixwhichchangeswith theangleofincidence.Themaximumindicatrixvaluewhichisdecisiveforvisualglossimpressionisassociatedwith specularreflec
20、tion,atanangleofreflectionwhichisapproximatelyequaltotheangleofincidence.Thereflectometer valueisdeterminedbyaveragingthereflectioninadefinedangularregioncenteredinthespeculardirection. NOTE1 Areflectometervalueisameasureofthevisualglossonlywhentheopticalconditionsofmeasurement, suchasanglesandapert
