However, attention is drawn to the fact that during the development of the European Standard the United Kingdom consistently voted

5、against its approval as a European Standard. The UK believes that the corresponding International Standard, ISO 15072:1999, should have been implemented, without modification, as a European Standard. As far as the UK is concerned, it is dangerous and unacceptable to have a European Standard that dif

6、fers from the corresponding International Standard by the across flats dimension for one size of fastener, all other requirements being identical between the two standards concerned. As part of BSIs duty of care, we draw the attention of users of this standard to our concerns that M12 bolts conformi

7、ng to EN 14219 differ from similar fasteners conforming to ISO 15072 in the across flats dimension only. This is 16 mm in EN 14219 and 15 mm in ISO 15072. BSI will assume no liability whatsoever for the failure on the part of any user of this standard not to consider this aspect. Precautions are urg

8、ed to ensure that commingling of those M12 bolts which conform to EN 14219 and those M12 bolts which conform to ISO 15072 is avoided. Amendments issued since publication Amd. 15、and accessories“, the secretariat of which is held by DIN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2003, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by Octo

16、ber 2003. Annex A is normative. According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following coun- tries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland,

Endorsement notice The text of the International Standard ISO 15072:1999 was approved by CEN as a European Standard with agreed common modifications as given below. Bolts in accordan

18、ce with this European Standard correspond to those specified in the International Standard ISO 15072:1999 with the exception that the width across flats for M12 is 16 mm (instead of 15 mm) and that the property class 9.8 was deleted. Moreover, the option for surface coatings according to ISO 10683 w

19、as added. EN 14219:2003 (E) 3 1 Scope This European Standard specifies the characteristics of hexagon bolts with flange with metric fine pitch thread, small series, with product grade A, with nominal thread diameters from 8 mm up to and including 16 mm and prop- erty classes 8.8, 10.9, 12.9 and A2-7

If, in special cases, specifications other than those listed in this European Standard are required, they shall be se- lected from existing European and International Standards, for example ISO 724, ISO 888, EN ISO 898-1, ISO 965-2, EN ISO 3506-1. 2 Normative references This European Standard inc

45、ethod for gauging of hexagon (see Figure A.1 and Table A.1) The head shall be gauged using two ring gauges, A and B, to demonstrate the coincidental acceptability of hexagon height, wrenching height, corner fill and width across corners. Gauge A shall be placed over the hexagon and shall seat on the

46、 flange. Gauge B shall be placed on the top of the head normal to the bolt axis. The two gauges shall not be in contact. A.2 Recommended method for gauging of flange thickness (see Figure A.1 and Table A.1) Gauge C is a flat feeler or ring gauge. It is used to prove that the flange thickness at the

47、junction with the hexagon portion is equal to or greater than specified values. The acceptance criterion is that gauge C shall fit under gauge A without contact when the bolt head is seated on a flat plate.
