It is identical with ISO8653:1986 published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO8653 was produced as a result of international discussions in which the United Kingdom took a
9、n active part. EN28653:1992 has been approved by CEN Member Bodies under the Unique Acceptance Procedure. This BritishStandard supersedes BS6820:1987, which is withdrawn. 20、28653:1992 BSI 01-2000 3 1 Scope and field of application This International Standard specifies the method for measuring the size of rings for the purposes of designating ring-sizes to be used in jewellery. 2 Definition ring-size the inner circumference of the ring expressed in millimetres 3 Measure
21、ment The inner circumference of the ring should be measured using a tapered ring-gauge (ring-stick) with the following characteristics: a) length of the measurement scale:160 0,5mm b) minimum ring-size:41 c) maximum ring-size:76 d) material: metal, or material with equivalent wear resistance. 4 Desi
22、gnation The size of the ring shall be designated by the number of this International Standard followed by the inner circumference of the ring expressed in millimetres rounded to the nearest millimetre.
