This test may
23、also be used for similar components when specified in a detail specification. The object of this test is to define a standard test method to assess the effects of accidental exposure to fluids and lubricants on electrical connecting devices. 2 Normative reference The following normative document con
24、tains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this section of IEC60512-19. At the time of publication, the edition indicated was valid. All normative documents are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this section of IEC60512-19 are encouraged to

26、uring methods Part 2: General examination, electrical continuity and contact resistance tests, insulation tests and voltage stress tests Amendment 1 (1994). 3 Preparation of the specimen The specimen shall be fitted with the normal accessories and wired in accordance with the detail specification. T
27、he cavities behind unwired contacts shall be fitted with filler plugs. 4 Test method 4.1 Initial measurements (if applicable) The initial measurements shall be carried out in accordance with the detail specification. 4.2 Conditioning Each specimen shall be subjected to only one of the fluids indicat
28、ed in the detail specification. If the test is carried out at a temperature exceeding the fluids flash-point, appropriate safety measures shall be taken. 29、on or application 4.2.1.1 Liquids: immersion The connectors shall be unmated. The specimens and the liquid shall first be brought to the temperature specified in the detail specification. The specimens shall be immersed in the liquid for a period between15min and20min, unless otherwise specified in
30、the detail specification. The temperature of the fluid shall not exceed the temperature of the specimen. 4.2.1.2 Greases: application The connectors shall be mated. The specimens and the grease shall first be brought to the temperature specified in the detail specification. The grease shall then be
31、applied on the specimens as a thin film with a brush. The specimens shall then be placed in an oven for a period between15min and20min. 4.2.2 Phase 2: Storage 4.2.2.1 Liquids After withdrawal from the liquid the specimens shall be stored under normal atmospheric conditions for7h 0,5h. 4.2.2.2 Grease
32、s The specimens shall be stored under normal atmospheric conditions for7h 0,5h. 4.2.3 Phase 3: Ageing The specimens shall be mated and placed in an oven with air circulation held at the temperature specified in the detail specification for16h 0,5h. The temperature shall not be less than + 65C unless
33、 otherwise specified in the detail specification. 4.2.4 Completion of conditioning The cycle shown inFigure 1 shall be repeated totally five times. The detail specification may specify a different number of cycles as well as a different temperature and duration of the first phase. After the last cyc
34、le, before the engaging and separating force test (Test 13a), the locking mechanism may be lubricated with a lubricant as specified in the detail specification. 4.3 Measurements After the last cycle the following tests shall be carried out after the specimens have been allowed to return to normal at
35、mospheric conditions: visual examination according to Test 1a in IEC60512 (future IEC 60512-1-1); insulation resistance measurements according to Test 3a in IEC 60512 (future IEC60512-3-1); contact resistance measurements according to Test 2a or 2b in IEC 60512 (future IEC60512-2-1 or IEC60512-2-2);
36、 engaging and separating forces according to Test 13a in IEC 60512 (future IEC60512-13-1); contact retention in insert according to Test15a in IEC60512 (future IEC60512-15-1). 4.4 Requirements After this test there shall be no defects impairing normal operation, and marking of the tested specimens s
37、hall be legible. A discoloration is admissible. The result of the test shall meet the applicable requirements of the detail specification. 5 Details to be specified When this test is required by the detail specification, the following details shall be specified: a) initial measurements (if applicabl
38、e); b) types of fluid (seeAnnex A); c) number of specimens, if more than one per fluid; d) type of wire; e) number of cycles, temperature and duration of immersion, if different from this standard; f) minimum insulation resistance (if applicable); g) maximum contact resistance (if applicable); h) po
39、ssible lubrication of locking mechanism; i) engaging and separating forces; j) force of test of retention of contact in insert; k) temperature of third phase; l) temperature limit of the specimen; m) temperature of the specimen and fluid for the first phase; n) any deviation from the standard test m
