Part3: S-VHS, published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It is identical with IEC774-3:1
7、993, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Additional information. Currently, both single-layer and double-layer tapes are available from different manufacturers. Double-layer coating allows the long and short wavelength characteristics of the tape to be designed separate
8、ly. This can be especially beneficial for chroma noise in colour-under systems. S-VHS recorders with a menu set-up facility have been recently introduced, which allows the user to select equalization (and possibly other record or reproduce characteristics) to match the type of tape in use. For the p
9、urposes of this set-up system, tapes have to be identified as type1,2,3 or4. It is understood that currently type2 is double-layer coated, type3 is single-layer and types1 and4 are not yet in use. A New Work Item Proposal has been submitted to the IEC proposing an amendment to IEC774-3 to incorporat
