25、eting“.Thetesthasbeenmodifiedtomakeitapplicableto strongwovenandknittedfabrics,coatedfabricsandleather.Thetestisdesignedtoassesstheresistanceto snaggingandtearingofmaterialsusedforprotectiveclothing.Itisimportanttoknowthepunctureanddynamic tearresistanceofmaterialusedforprotectiveclothingthatisinten
26、dedtobeusedinhazardoussituationswherethe clothingformsabarrierbetweenthewearerandthehazard,andbreachingofthebarriercanresultinharmandthe levelofriskofharmisrelatedtothesizeofholeresultingfromthepunctureandtear.Suchclothingincludes chemicalandbiologicalbarrierclothing,spraysuits,foulweatherclothingan

Dynamictearingofmaterialsfollowingpuncturebyaspikeisacomplexprocess.ThetestgiveninthisEuropean Standardhasbeendevisedtoprovidestandardconditionsunderwhichmaterialscanbecompared.Experience withmaterialsofknownresistancewillenableproductstandardswritersandclothingdesignerstospec
