Thestabilityofthespotpositionisaparticularlysignificantparameterforprolongedweldingapplicationsandfor electronbeamweldingwithautomaticdevicespositioningtheworkpiece.Insuchapplications,theweldingmachine shallbeabletoreproduce,overprolongedperiodsandwithoutadditionalcorrectio

25、inatesperpendiculartotheaxisofthebeam. 4Testarrangement 4.1General Duringthespecifiedtestperiod,theelectronbeam,atagivenpower,transmitsitsenergytoaheatsinkAortoa FaradaycupasdescribedinENISO147443(seefigure1).Fortheactualmeasurement,aspeciallyprepared workpiece,B,shallbepositionedinthebeamaxisandthe

26、beampoweradjustedtotheweldingtask(smallmelt spotsormeltruns). Thebeamfocaldistanceemployedshallbethemaximumpracticalintheworkchamber. TheheatsinkortheFaradaycupandtheworkpieceBshallbearrangedrelativetoeachothersoastopreventany thermalinteraction. Todeterminethebeamcurrentrequiredforthemeasurement,as

27、isnormalinweldingpractice,athirdworkpiece,C, ofthesameheightasworkpieceBshallbeprovided(seefigure1).
