22、11:2002(E) 4 Introduction Qualificationofweldingproceduresservestodemonstratethatproductionoperationsfullycomplywiththeagreed weldingprocedureincludingpreliminaryandsubsequenttreatment. Beforeaparticularweldingprocedureisusedinaproductionoperation,themanufacturershoulddetermineand documentthesuitabi

23、lityoftheWeldingProcedureSpecification(WPS)toproduceaweldoftherequiredquality. Todatethesuitabilityofweldingprocedureshasbeenestablishedforweldmentsaspartofthequalityassurance activity.Untilnow,establishingthesuitabilityofweldingproceduresbyweldproceduretestingwascarriedoutand documentedonlyforweldm

24、entsinvolvingsafetyandthepublicinterest.TheEuropeanharmonisationofthe provisionforweldingproceduretestsiscurrentlybeingsoughtbymeansofEuropeanStandards.Inthisway greaterconfidencewillbegeneratedforthecustomerbythemanufacturer. Theproofsalsoserveasthebasisforthemutualrecognitionofperformancereachedby

25、therelevantauthorities.In thisstandard,theterm“weldingprocedure“comprisesalltheactivitieswhichinfluencetheweldingresult,suchas preparation,weldingparameters,posttreatmentandreworking. 26、ronorlaserbeamweldingis qualifiedbyaweldingproceduretest. Thisstandardisapartofaseriesofstandards,detailsofthisseriesaregiveninprENISO15607,annexA. Itdefinestheconditionsfortheexecutionofweldingprocedurequalificationtestsandthelimitsofvalidityofa qualifiedweldingprocedureforallpracticalweldingoperat

27、ionswithintherangeofvariableslistedinclause8. Testsshallbecarriedoutinaccordancewiththisstandardtogetherwithadditionaltestswhenspecified. Thisstandardappliestometallicmaterials,irrespectiveoftheshapeoftheparts,theirthicknesses,manufacturing method(rolling,forging,casting,sintering,etc.)andtheirheatt

Theweldingprocedurespecification(WPS)shallgivedetailsonhowaweldingoperationistobeperformed, includingtackingandfixturing. 5 Weldingproceduretest Themanufactureandtestingoftestpiecesshallbeinacc

37、ordancewithclauses6and7ofthisstandard. Inordertotakeintoaccounttheserviceperformanceneedsoftheproducts,thequalificationmaybemade accordingtoanyoftheacceptancelevelsB,CorDasdefinedinENISO139191forsteelsorinprENISO13919 2foraluminiumanditsalloys. Thequalitylevelnecessaryineachcaseshouldbespecifiedbyth

38、eapplicationstandardortheresponsible designer. 6 Testpiece 6.1General Theassemblytowhichtheelectronorlaserbeamweldingprocedureappliesinproductionmayberepresentedby oneormorestandardizedtestpiecesasdefinedin6.2. 6.2Shapeanddimensionsoftestpieces Thetestpiecesshallbeofsufficientsizetoensureanadequateh

39、eatdistributionandfortheapplicationofnon destructiveand/ordestructivetests. Thetestpieceshallbedesignedtorepresent,asfaraspossible,thecomponentandjointgeometryandshallbe specified. Oneormoreadditionaltestpiecesoralongertestpiecethantheminimumsize,maybeusedinordertoallowfor extraand/orforretestingspe

40、cimens,accordingto7.5. Forplatematerial,theprincipaldirectionofrollingshallbemarkedonthetestpiece,ifrequestedbytheapplication standardorthespecification. Thethicknessand/orpipeoutsidediameterofthetestpiecesshallbeselectedinaccordancewith8.5.2.1to 8.5.2.2. Unlessotherwisespecified,theshapeandminimumd
