Theabilityof
21、thediverwelderorweldingoperatortofollowverbalorwritteninstructionsandtestingofhisskillare thereforeimportantfactorsinensuringthequalityoftheweldedproduct. Testingofskilltothisstandarddependsonweldingmethodsinwhichuniformrulesandtestconditionsarecomplied with,andstandardtestpiecesareused. Thisstandar
22、disintendedtoprovidethebasisforthemutualrecognitionbyexaminingbodiesforapprovalrelating todiverweldersorweldingoperatorscompetenceinthevariousfieldsofapplication. Testsshouldbecarried outinaccordancewiththisstandardunlessmoreseveretestsarespecifiedbytherelevantapplicationstandard whentheseshouldbeap
23、plied. Thetestweldmaybeusedtoapproveaweldingprocedureandadiverwelderorweldingoperator,providedthat alltherelevantrequirements,e.g.testpiecedimensions,aresatisfied. Thediverweldersorweldingoperatorsskillandjobknowledgecontinuetobeapprovedonlyifthediverwelder orweldingoperatorareworkingwithreasonablec
24、ontinuityonweldingworkwithintheextentofapproval. 1 Scope Thisstandardappliestoweldingprocesseswheretheskillofthediverwelderorweldingoperatorhasasignificant influenceonweldquality. Thisstandardspecifiesessentialrequirements,rangesofapproval,testconditions,acceptancerequirementsand certificationforthe
25、approvaltestingofdiverwelderorweldingoperatorperformancefortheweldingofsteels underwaterinahyperbaricdryenvironment. Therecommendedformatforthecertificateofapprovaltestingisgiven inAnnexA. Duringtheapprovaltestthediverwelderorweldingoperatorshouldberequiredtoshowadequatepractical experienceandjobkno
26、wledge(testnonmandatory)oftheweldingprocesses,materialsandsafetyrequirementsfor whichheistobeapproved,informationontheseaspectsisgiveninAnnexB. Thisstandardisapplicablewhenthediverweldersorweldingoperatorsapprovaltestingisrequiredbythe purchaser,byinspectionauthoritiesorbyotherorganisations. Theweld
27、ingprocessesreferredtointhisstandardincludefusionweldingprocesseswhicharedesignatedasmanual orpartlymechanizedweldingfordiverweldersandfullymechanizedorautomaticweldingforoperators(see5.2). Allnewapprovalsareinaccordancewiththisstandardfromthedateofthisissue. However,thisstandarddoesnotinvalidatepre
28、viousdiverwelderorweldingoperatorapprovalsmadetoformer nationalstandardsorspecifications,providingtheintentofthetechnicalrequirementsissatisfiedandtheprevious approvalsarerelevanttotheapplicationandproductionworkonwhichtheyaretobeemployed. Also,whereadditionaltestsshouldbecarriedouttomaketheapproval
29、technicallyequivalentitisonlynecessary todotheadditionaltestsonatestpiecewhichshouldbemadeinaccordancewiththisstandard.
