6、01-2000 1 1 Inspection and testing procedure This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of the latest issue of BSHC 100 as follows: 2 Manufacture Material intended for the production of re-melting stock or castings shall be melted and cast under vacuum. 3 Chemical
7、composition The re-melting stock and castings shall contain: 4 Condition Castings shall be supplied in the solution treated condition. 5 Heat treatment The final heat treatment shall be as follows. 5.1 Solution treatment. Heat at a temperature of1150 10 C for 2 h in a protective atmosphere and cool
8、to room temperature. 5.2 Precipitation treatment. Heat at a temperature of 800 10 C for 8 h and cool in air to room temperature. 6 Mechanical properties 6.1 Tensile. The tensile properties obtained from test pieces representing castings, selected, prepared and tested in accordance with the relevant
9、requirements of BSHC 100, shall be: NOTEInformation on SI units is given in BS 3763“The International System of units (SI)” and BS 350 “Conversion factors and tables”. 7 Rectification of defects 7.1 Correction of distortion. When permitted in accordance with BS HC 100, distortion shall be corrected
10、after solution treatment. 7.2 Repair of castings by welding. When repairby welding is permitted in accordance with BS HC 100, castings shall subsequently be solution treated.
