39、entshallbemaintainedsothatthevaluesofitsmeasurementuncertaintydonotexceed thevaluesgivenin6.1. 7.2 Tanksshallonlybecalibratedaftertheyhavebeenfilledatleastoncewithaliquidofequalorgreater densitythantheliquidwhichtheywillholdwheninuse. NOTE Thehydrostatictestappliedtonewtankswillsatisfythisrequiremen
40、tinmostcases.ISO7507-5:2000(E) 4 7.3 Ifthetankiscalibratedwhilstcontainingliquid,thecontentsshallremainstaticduringthecomplete calibration.Thedip(i.e.depth),temperatureanddensityoftheliquidshallbemeasuredandrecorded.However,if thetemperatureofthetankwalldiffersbymorethan10Cbetweentheemptypartoftheta
41、nkandthefullpartof thetank,thetankshalleitherbecompletelyfullorempty.Notransfersofliquidtoorfromthetankshallbemade duringcalibration. 7.4 TheEODRinstrumentshallbeverifiedpriortocalibration. Theaccuracyofthedistance-measuringunit,aswellastheangularmeasuringunit,shallbeverifiedusingthe proceduresrecom
42、mendedbythemanufacturer. NOTE TheappropriateproceduresgiveninannexAofISO7507-4:1995shouldbeusedfortheverificationofequipmentin thefield. 7.5 Calibrationshallbecarriedoutwithoutinterruption. 7.6 Theoverallheightofthereferencepointonthedip-hatchabovethedippingdatum-pointshallbemeasured usingadip-tapea
43、nddip-weightconformingtoISO4512.Thisoverallheight,tothenearest1mm,shallbe recorded. 8 Determinationofthenumberofstations Thenumberofstationsusedinacalibrationisdependentonthenominaltankcircumference. Thenumberofstationsshallbedeterminedbythefollowingequation: N= C 8 where N isthenumberofstationsroun

Theminimumnumberofstationsshallbenotlessthan8;anupperlimitof36stationsisacceptableunless circumstancesrequirethatmoremeasurementsbemade. NOTE Ifatankisabnormallydeformed,e.g.dentedornon-circular,thenumberoftangentialpointsan
45、dreadingsshould beincreasedtotakeaccountoftheareasofdeformation. 9 Target-pointpositioning Twosetsoftangentmeasurementsshallbetakenateachstation.Ineachsetoftangents,measurementstotwo tangentspercourseshallbetaken,oneat1/5to1/4ofthecourseheightabovethelowerhorizontalseamandthe otherat1/5to1/4ofthecou
