7、British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of the latest issue of BSL100 as follows. 2 Quality of material The material shall be made from aluminium and alloying constituents, with or without approved scrap at the discretion of the manufacturer. 3 Chemical composition T
8、he chemical composition of the material shall be: 4 Condition 4.1 Bars and extruded sections (temper designationT6). Unless otherwise agreed and stated on the order in accordance with BSL100, section5, the material shall be supplied solution treated in accordance with5.1, straightened and subsequent
9、ly artificially aged in accordance with5.2. 4.2 Bars and extruded sections (temper designation T651). Unless otherwise agreed and stated on the order in accordance with section5 of BSL100, the material shall be supplied solution treated in accordance with5.1, controlled stretched and subsequently ar
10、tificially aged in accordance with5.2. Unless otherwise stated on the order, it may be straightened after controlled stretching. 4.3 Bars and extruded sections for highly stressed structures (temper designation T651). Unless otherwise agreed and stated on the order in accordance with BSL100, section
11、6, the material shall be supplied solution treated in accordance with5.1, controlled stretched and subsequently artificially aged in accordance with5.2. Unless otherwise stated on the order, it may be straightened after controlled stretching. 5 Heat treatment 5.1 Solution treatment. The solution tre
12、atment shall consist of heating at a temperature of505 5 C and quenching in water at a temperature not exceeding40 C. 5.2 Artificial ageing. Artificial ageing shall consist of heating at a temperature of175 5 C for5h to12h. Bars for machining and extruded sections sections 1 and 5 Bars for machining

Unless they are required by BSL100 to be fixed by agreement
15、 between the manufacturer and the purchaser, the mechanical properties obtained from test pieces selected and prepared in accordance with the relevant requirements of BSL100 shall be not less than the following values. NOTEInformation on SI units is given in BS3763 “The International System of units
16、 (SI)” and BS350 “Conversion factors and tables”. 6.1 Hardness test. The value of X shall be as shown in the following table. 7 Identification The material shall be identified as follows. a) Material supplied as specified in 4.1: BS L168 T6. b) Material supplied as specified in 4.2 or 4.3, not strai
17、ghtened after controlled stretching: BSL168 T6510. c) Material supplied as specified in 4.2 or 4.3, straightened after controlled stretching: BSL168 T6511.
