CGSB is engaged in the prod

2、uction of voluntary standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards committees and the consensus process. The standards committees are composed of representatives of relevant interests including producers, consumers and other users, retailers, governments, educational insti

3、tutions, technical, professional and trade societies, and research and testing organizations. Any given standard is developed on the consensus of views expressed by such representatives. CGSB has been accredited by the Standards Council of Canada as a national standards-development organization. The

4、 standards that it develops and offers as National Standards of Canada conform to the criteria and procedures established for this purpose by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to standards it publishes as National Standards of Canada, CGSB produces standards to meet particular needs, in r

5、esponse to requests from a variety of sources in both the public and private sectors. Both CGSB standards and CGSB national standards are developed in conformance with the policies described in the CGSB Policy and Procedures Manual for the Development and Maintenance of Standards. CGSB standards are

6、 subject to review and revision to ensure that they keep abreast of technological progress. CGSB will initiate the review of this standard within five years of the date of publication. Suggestions for their improvement, which are always welcome, should be brought to the notice of the standards commi

7、ttees concerned. Changes to standards are issued either as separate amendment sheets or in new editions of standards. An up-to-date listing of CGSB standards, including details on latest issues and amendments, and ordering instructions, is found in the CGSB Catalogue at our Web site www.tpsgc-pwgsc.

A National Standard of Canada (NSC) is a standard prepared or reviewed by an SCC-accredited SDO and approved by the SCC according to NSC approval requirements. Approval does not refer to the technical conte

20、nt of the standard, as this remains the responsibility of the SDO. An NSC reflects a consensus of a number of capable individuals whose collective interests provide, to the greatest practicable extent, a balance of representation of general interests, producers, regulators, users (including consumer

21、s) and others with relevant interests, as may be appropriate to the subject at hand. NSCs are intended to make a significant and timely contribution to the Canadian interest. Those who have a need to apply standards are encouraged to use NSCs. These standards are subject to periodic review. Users of

It states the requirements for cotton and cotton/polyester commercial and utility/insti

39、.3.1.2 TypesType 1 CottonType 2 Cotton/polyester blend (minimum 80% cotton content).4 General requirements 4.1 The washcloths covered by this standard shall be free from imperfections and blemishes that may adversely affect their appearance or serviceability.5 Detailed requirements 5.1 Materials5.1.

40、1 Yarnsa. Pile Warp The pile warp yarns shall be singles, 100% cotton.b. Ground Warp The ground warp yarns shall be singles or 2-ply carded cotton yarns, or single yarns spun from a blend of polyester and cotton fibres. When tested in accordance with CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 14, the polyester content shall

41、not exceed 65%.c. Weft The weft yarns shall be single carded cotton yarns or single yarns spun from a blend of polyester and cotton fibres. When tested in accordance with CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 14, the polyester content shall not exceed 65%.5.1.2 Overedging The yarns used for overedging or serging shall b

42、e of a warp yarn type with a resultant linear density of 40 to 50 tex. The ratio of feed of the pile warp to the ground warp shall not be less than 4 t

43、o 1.NOTE A ratio of 3.5 to 1 is acceptable for Class B crested washcloths.5.2.2 Overedging The edges of the washcloths shall be serged or overedged with not less than four stitches per centimetre.5.3 Design The design (cross stripes, pile-free areas, coloured areas, woven identifications, etc.) shal

44、l be as agreed between the purchaser and the supplier as specified (see 8.1).5.4 ColourThe colour of the washcloths shall be as specified (see 8.1). When required to be white, Type 1 washcloths shall be given a full commercial bleach and shall meet the requirements for cuprammonium fluidity specifie

45、d in Tables 1 and 2.5.5 Sizes The finished dimensions shall be 30 x 30 cm 3%.5.6 Fabric When tested in accordance with the specified test methods, the fabric shall comply with the requirements of Tables 1 and 2.5.7 Marking The marking of washcloths other than the design marking indicated in 5.3 shal

46、l be as specified (see 8.1).6 Preparation for delivery6.1 Packaging and labelling Unless otherwise specified (see 8.1), normal commercial practice of packaging and labelling shall be acceptable. It is the manufacturers responsibility to see that goods are packaged in a suitable manner to be delivere

47、d in an undamaged condition.7 Inspection7.1 Sampling Sampling shall be left to the discretion of the purchaser, unless a specific sampling plan is specified (see 8.1).7.2 The inspection authority reserves the right to perform any inspections considered necessary to ensure that material and services
