37、r Heaters for Residential Use 1. Scope 1.1 This Standard specifies requirements for the installation of electric storage tank and heat pump water heaters intended for use in residential premises. 1.2 This Standard applies to (a) electric storage tank water heaters with (i) volumes of 501154 L (13-l

38、20 US gal); and (ii) electrical heaters with power inputs up to 12 kW; and (b) heat pump water heaters that have (i) a maximum current rating of 24 A; (ii) a single-phase maximum voltage of 250 V; and (iii) ancillary equipment necessary for the device to function. 1.3 This Standard is not intended t

39、o provide guidance in selecting the tank capacity for any given installation. 1.4 The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only. 2. Definitions and Reference Publications 2.1 Definitions The following definitions apply in this Standa

40、rd: Add-on heat pump - a supplementary heating device for connection to a storage tank water heater, consisting of an air-to-water heat pump, air-circulating fan, water pump, and controls. Authority having jurisdiction - the governmental body responsible for the enforcement of any part of this Stand

41、ard or the official or agency designated by that body to exercise such a function. Electric storage tank water heater - an automatically controlled, thermally insulated, electrically heated water storage tank having a rated storage capacity of 50-454 L (13-l 20 US gal). 42、nternational Heat pump water heater - a water heater system that utilizes electricity as an energy source for the transfer of thermal energy from one temperature level to a higher temperature level for the purpose of heating water. The system includes all necessary auxiliary equipment, such as fans,

43、 storage tanks, pumps, and necessary controls. Integral heat pump water heater - a complete water-heating system consisting of an air-to-water heat pump, storage tank, backup electric-resistance heaters, air-circulating fan, and controls in a single, integrated package. Note: The integral heat pump

44、uses CJ heat exchanger that is built into the inner wall of the tank as the condenser. This design increases the efficiency of the condenser and eliminates the need for Q pump to circulate the water. Jacket - the outer shell of the storage tank water heater surrounding the thermal insulation. 2.2 Re

Installation - General 3.1 Codes The installation shall be in accordance with all applicable local and provincial plumbing and electr

47、ical codes. The requirements of CSA Standards CANKSAC22.2 No. 110 and B125 shall be met. 3.2 Requirements The installer shall ensure that the installation requirements of this Standard are met, in addition to those specified in the manufacturers instructions. 3.3 Qualifications Personnel performing

48、installation, inspection, and maintenance work shall be experienced and/or trained in such work and shall comply with the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. 3.4 Energy Efficiency The water heater shall meet the requirements of CSA Standard C745. 2 November 2000 0 CSA International ln

Placement 4.1 Electric Storage Tank Water Heaters 4.1.1 Placement The placement criteria in Clauses 4.1.2 to 4.1.7 shall be used when a new tank is installed or, where practicable, an existing tank is replaced. 4.1.2 Drainage The tank shall be installed close to a fully functional floor drain and shall be located such that the floor slope will carry water from the tank to that drain. If this is not practicable, the requirements of Clause 4.1.7 shall be met. 4.1.3 Location Where pra
