2、uropean Radiocommiinications Committee” (ERC): “The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations, considering a) that a Land Mobile-Satellite Service (LMSS) in Europe and Middle East will be introduced by European Telecom- munications Operators end 1990, b) that LMSS systems
3、provide interconnection with the public switched telex network; however, this will be extended by service providers to other messaging systems including mailbox and other facilities provided through X.25, X.400 and voice-band data services, c) that the frequency bands for the LMSS in the 1.5-1.6 GHz
4、 frequency bands have been allocated by the WARC d) that it will be desirable for CEPT Administrations to have common regulations at their disposal concerning the type approval, the marking, the use and the free circulation of Inmarsat-C LMSS terminals, e) that a European Telecommunication Standard
5、(ETS) covering Mobile Earth Stations (MES) operating in the 1.5/1.6/2.5 GHz frequency bands is currently being drafted by ETSI, f) that Inmarsat-C LMSS terminals will be required to meet the standards of technical performance as described in Module 4 of the Inmarsat-C System Definition Manual (SDM),
6、 MOB-87, O recommends 1. that CEPT member Administrations will accept the Inmarsat type-testing procedures of Inmarsat-C LMSS terminals as described in Module 8, Part 1 of the Inmarsat-C System Definition Manual (SDM) and will accept these until end 1993 as type-approval procedures, 2. that CEE memb
7、er Administrations shall not require an individual licence for the use of Inmarsat-C LMSS terminals, 3. that all CEPT member Administrations permit the free circulation and use of Inmarsat-C LMSS terminals provided: i) that the terminal has been type-tested by Inmarsat and bearing a mark in conformity with the conditions set out in Annex 1 of this Recommendation; ii) that the user is a subscriber to an authorized Inmarsat operator.” O Edition of March 1,1993 i
