SCOPE This Recommendation contains and refers to test procedures to facilitate CEPT member bodies verification of the protocol and service conformance of Teletex systems in order to ensure the international compatibility of Teletex. Furthermore, the sp
、ecific Teletex service and protocol definitions of CEPT are considered to harmonise the test procedures for those requirements. This Recommendation contains the CEPT-agreed test cases which may be used by the CEPT member countries. It also contains national test requirements. This Recommendation is
、only applicable when considered together with the relevant CCITT Recommenda- tions T.63 and T.64. The test definitions for these related CCITT Recommendations, which define the Teletex service, are not duplicated in this Recommendation. The CEPT and national test procedures contained herein are base
、d on requirements for Teletex systems in three main areas: a) Conformance testing procedures for the 1984 Teletex Recommendations, defined in CCITT, SG VIII. b) Characteristics of Teletex equipments, specified in CEPT Recommendation T/A 07-01 E, version May 1986. c) Characteristics of Teletex equipm
、ents for CSPDN for layers 2 and 3, specified in CCITT, SG VIII. Therefore, the test procedures of this Recommendation cover all CEPT aspects of Teletex which have international end-to-end significance. Thus, tests for the network dependent layers (layers 2 and 3) of CSPDN are included. These test pr
、ocedures do not supersede the relevant CCITT and CEPT Recommendations which continue to be the definitive specifications for all aspects of the Teletex service. The test procedures of this Recommendation, together with the test procedures in CCIT, are intended to assist verification and cannot fully
、 guarantee the compliance of Teletex systems to the relevant Recom- mendations. REFERENCES This Recommendation refers to CCITT Recommendation T.64. The whole of Recommendation T.64 together with this Recommendation shall be applied for a comprehen- sive test of a Teletex system. This Recommendation
、refers to CCITT Recommendation T. 63 which defines the Basic Teletex test pages and their encoding. The test pages of this Recommendation are only extensions to Recommendation T.63. This Recommendation refers to Recommendation T/A 07-01 E which is the basis for the European Teletex terminal equipmen
、t specification. RELATIONSHIP TO CEPT RECOMMENDATION T/A 07-01 E The May 1986 version of CEPT Recommendation T/A 07-01 E will not be modified because a new 1990 version will be defined. The 1990 version will be available in mid-1988 (Recommendation T/TE 07-01bis E). This gives the CEPT member organi
、sations the opportunity to harmonise or remove the national variants until 1990. In the meantime, the May 1986 version of Recommendation T/A 07-01 E does not reflect the current national variants. In principle, as test cases have to be derived from the original specifications, this update cannot the
、refore take place until 1990. Therefore, the test cases for the national test requirements, contained in Recommendation T/TE 07-02 E, reflect the current status of each countrys national requirements to be used for testing purposes. The relevant definitions for these national requirements are detail
、ed only in the national Teletex specifications. Edition of June 30 4. 4.1. 5. 5.1. 5.2. 5.3. 5.4. 5.5. 5.6. T/TE 07-02 E Page 5 TEST LIMITATIONS The tests will establish to an acceptable degree of reliability that a Teletex system conforms to the relevant Recommendations. It is not possible to test
、for “complete conformance” due to: a) The immense number of state event combinations and possible valid and invalid PDU types which would require an unacceptably large amount of computational resources and time. b) The possibility that previous actions may affect the results of a particular test. c)
、 “Transient” states that, although defined in the Recommendations may not be externally accessible. Therefore, the relevant test cases may or may not be used in the CEPT member countries. STRUCTURE OF THE RECOMMENDATION Test procedures applying to Transport, Session, Service, Terminal and CSPDN lowe
、r layers requirements are contained in Annexes. In general, each Annex is sub-divided into separate parts. Each part covers the CEPT agreed tests (Annexes denoted by “C”) and national test (Annexes denoted by “N”). The Table of Contents gives the exact structure of this Recommendation. The scheme ad
、opted for the test case numbering, in general, follows the format used in CCITT Recom- mendation T.64. “G” indicates that the test is carried out with the system under test calling and “D” indicates that the test is carried out with the system under test called. “T” indicates a test of local functio
、ns. In the Annexes relating to the national requirements, the “G” or “D” is preceded by “NR” followed by a number. This extension to the numbering scheme indicates a national requirement test at transport, session layer or service and terminal. A full description of the test numbering scheme, test t
