The purpose of a Functional Standard is to recommend when and how certain

This Functional Standard specifies the exchange of Teletex documents between two end systems, which may be Teletex terminals, as defined in the CEN/CENELEC/CEPT Memorandum M-IT-02. SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION This Functional Standard is intended t
6、o be used with and identified within functional standards that specify the control procedures, the character repertoire and its coding scheme, and the functionality at application level for devices used for the exchange of Teletex documents. This Functional Standard does not make recommendations in relation to the local functionality of a Teletex terminal as specified in CCITT Recommendation T.60, but only in relation to the function of exchange of documents and interworking between these terminals. Implementations of systems
13、interworking with Teletex terminals can also be achieved on the basis of CCITT Recommendation X. 215/X. 225 or IS0 DIS 8326/7 in compatibility with CCITT Recommendation T.62, as specified in CCITT Recommendation T.62bis. The overall operation of the Teletex Service is defined in CCIT Recommendation
14、F.200. See Functional Standards C/llx for the use of this Functional Standard A/221 in combination with the relevant TI- Functional Standards in the context of the Teletex Service. Systems supporting this Functional Standard Al221 may also interchange Teletex Documents using any T/- Functional Stand

16、 in CCITT Recommendations T.63 and T.64 and CEPT Recommendation T/TE 07-02. SESSION LAYER DESCRTPTION The implementation of the session layer shall be fully in line with the provisions laid down and described in CCITT Recommendation T. 62 together with CEPT Recommendation T/A 07-01 bis E. APPLICATION LAYER DESCRIPTION The implementation of the application layer for terminals wishing to exchange Teletex documents (but not participating in the Teletex service) shail be fully in line with CCITT Recommendation T.60 together with CEPT Recommendation T/A 07-
19、01 bis E except for the following: a) may or may not support full automatic operation; b) may or may not be capable of interworking with telex; c) may use fail-back representation for presenting the Basic Teletex Character Repertoire; d) may make use of a different terminal identification than defined for the basic Teletex service.
