、n: “The European Conference of Posts In order to avoid measurement error due to contact resistance it may be necessary to insert conductive material, such as a wet electrode consisting of a colloidal suspension of graphite, between the floor covering material and the ground plane. Note 2: To compens

、ate for unevenness in hard floor covering material it may be necessary to use a contact electrode with a soft underpadding. In this case a measurement should be made of the contact resistance of the underpadding using the same arrangements but without the floor covering material. The specific resist

、ance of the underpadding should not exceed 10% of the minimum value specified in 4.1.1. Measurement of the resistance of the finished floor Measurement should be carried out not less than four weeks after the floor covering has been laid and should be repeated after a period of 12 months. Measuremen

、t sites should be uniformly distributed over the surface of the floor and chosen to provide at least one measurement per square metre. The chosen measurement sites should be marked and at each site the floor covering should be cleaned to remove dirt, wax or other insulating layers without damaging t

It may be desirable to condition the room with regard to temperature and humidity for a defined period prior to carrying out the measurements. This question

、 is under study. A metal electrode with a contact surface area not less than 0.002 m2 but not exceeding 100 x 100 mm should be placed on the floor with a pressure of between 20 to 100 kN/m2 (Note I). The dc resistance between the electrode and an arbitrary earthing point within the same room should

、be measured with an instrument whose scale is suitable for measurement of dc resistance within the range of 10 kQ to 100 MR (Note 2). The applied voltage should be not less than 100 VDC from a safety source and the measurement should be taken not less than one minute after application of the voltage

、. Each measurement should be repeated after the insertion of a wetted absorbent paper between the floor covering and the measuring electrode. The area of absorbent paper should just exceed the contact area of the measuring electrode. If the values of dc resistance at every measurement site (Note 2),

、 using both the wet and dry measurement methods, are within the range specified in 4.1.2. then the limits are considered to be met. Note 1; To compensate for unevenness in a hard floor covering it may be necessary to use a contact material with a soft underpadding. In this case a measurement should

、be made of the dc resistance of the underpadding. This should be carried out in accordance with the relevant paragraphs of 4.2.2. and the measured resistance should not exceed 10% of the minimum value specified in 4.1.2. Note 2; The question of whether some measurements can be outside the range spec

Date when floor covering was installed. Scale plan of the floor showing measuring sites chosen and subsequent measuring results (i.e. resistance values) obtained at each measuring site. Temperature and relative humidity in the room. Date of the test The test report should be retained for future reference as required. Edition of September 1, 1986
