Its conten

3、ts and arrangements conform generally to the (17) “CSI Masterformat - Master List of Section Titles and (25) Numbers (MP-2-l),“ 10 Mar 1983 of the Construction Speci- (17) fications Institute. (17) In accordance with the CSI Masterformat, identify each Section by a number and a letter (see Index of

4、Divisions and . Sections). The number will be that of the Division under which the Section is located. The letters following the number will begin with “A“ and continue alphabetically, as necessary USE AND INSTRUCTION: This Guide Specification shall be used in the preparation of project specificatio

5、ns for Military Family Housing in ac- cordance with current directives and instructions. It shall not be made a part of another specification by reference. Each project Architect- Engineer shall assure that complete coverage of the WOKK involved is specified, and shall further assure that Co-ordinat

6、ion with the drawings is accomplished. SELECTION OF MATERIALS: It is intended that architects and engineers for military family housing projects be permitted to select from this Guide Specification the materials and equipment which, in their professional judg- ment, are sui table for specif ic proje

7、cts. Contractor opinions included in this Guide Specification shall not be deleted unless economic and engineering evaluations indicate that the options are not justified for a specific project. Newly developed materials and methods not included in this Guide Specifica- tion may be used in limited a

8、pplication with prior clearance of the Military Departments involved. (Each Military Department shall ensure that prohibi- ted materials are not included in project specifications.) Such new materials or methods may not be used extensively until the quality and durability have been proven and approp

9、riate specifications have been included in this Guide Specification. In selecting the quality standards for materials and equipment, consideration should be given to the impact that certain materials may have on the construc- tion and maintenance cost of the over-all project. 11、 in $he project specifications as one of the Sections under Division 2 - “Site Work,“ and be numbered ac co r din gly . NOTES ON THE USE OF THIS SPECIFICATION SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDA- TIONS: This section shall be included in the specifications when fencing is required for safety and/or screening

12、of a military family housing project. Security fencing is specifically ex- cluded from this section of the Mili- tary Family Housing Guide Specifica- tion s. The drawings shall incorporate a specific layout of fencing. Locations of straight-line and corner-post brac- ing shall be indicated. Requirem

13、ents of fence type, height of fence, swing of gates, and sizes shall be provided in layouts. For military family housing projects requiring security fencing for electri- cal substations or similar installations, the appropriate Departmental Guide Specification for security fencing util- ized in mili

Chain Link Fencing: The .U standard height of chain - link fencing for military family hous- ing projects shall be 42 inches.

17、 When a specific .project requires a greater height for added safety, but not for security purposes, the height may be increased to 72 inches. Toprails or Wire: The toprails shall be deleted and a top tension wire substituted where appearance is not important or where the chain link fence is adja- c

18、ent to screen planting. A bottom reinforcing wire shall be specified with either a toprail or a top rein- forcing wire. Screen Fencing: Details for wood or masonry screening shall be completely indi- cated on the drawings, and the method of canstructian shall be accomplished in accordance with the a

19、ppropriate section of these specifications. MATERIALS : FENCING (A) STANDARD PRODUCTS: Materials provided shall be standard catalog products of

24、 manufacturers regularly engaged in manufacture of products conforming to these specifications. (21) (BI CHAIN LINK FABRIC: Chain link fencing fabric shall be one of the following with a 2 inch mesh fabric height and edge finish as indicated: (21) (1) Galvanized Steel: Shall conform to ASTM A 392, 9

25、 gage. (12) (2) Aluminum-Coated Steel: Shall conform to ASTM A 392, (21) 9 gage, but aluminum coated with 0.40 ounce of aluminum per square foot of uncoated wire conforming to ASTM A 428. (12) (3) Aluminum-Alloy: Shall conform to ASTM A 392, 0.148 inch diameter, including gates, posts, toprails, hin

For use with zinc-coated fabric, wire shall be zinc-coated with .80 ounce of zinc per square foot of wire surface. For use with aluminum- coate

29、d or aluminum-alloy fabric, wire shall be aluminum-coated with 0.40 ounce of aluminum per square foot of wire surface. (Detailed instructions for erection of chain link fencing shall be furnished with the fence material by the fence manufacturer. ) . (BI EXCAVATION: Excavatio
