5、N: This Guide Specification shall be uaed in the preparation of project specifications for Military Family Housing in ac- cordance with current directives and instructions. It shall not be made a part of another specification by reference. Each project Architect- Engineer shall assure that complete
6、coverage of the work is involved is specified, and shall further assure that Co-ordination with the drawings is accompliehed. SELECTION OF MATERIALS: It is intended that architects and engineers for military family housing projects be permitted to select from this Guide Specification the materials a
7、nd equipment which, in their professional judg- ment, are suitable for specific projects. Contractor opinions included in this Guide Specification shall not be deleted unless economic and engineering evaluations indicate that the options are not justified for a specific project. Newly developed mate

(Each Military Department shall ensure that prohib- ited materials are not included in project specifications.) Such new materials or methods may

NOTES ON THE USE
12、 OF THIS SPECIFICATION SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDA- TIONS: This Guide Specification covers clearing, stripping, and rough grading of the site, and does not include finish grading, landscaping or excavation and backfill for buildings. Referenced Specifications: In the project specifications, list the

Where suitable topsoil is not available within the limits of the work area, considera- tion shall be given to whether it is more economical to treat the soil of the graded

If treatment of the soil is more econ- omical, paragraph (B) shall be deleted, and the requirements for fertilizer and supplements shall be included in Se

Borrow Pits: Two alternate paragraphs are furnished depending on whether
19、borrow areas are available on Government land. If avail- able on Government land, locations of the areas will be indicated, or the approximate distances from the project site will be specified. When results of compaction tests for moisture-density relations are recorded on graphs,
