Type, which forms part of the CSA C108.1 Series on Electromagnetic Interference Measuring Instruments. It defines the performance character- istics of

14、 an instrument or instruments complying with the requirements of the International Special Committee on Radio Interference of the International Electro- technical Commission. The remaining Standards corn- prising the C108.1 Series are: C108.1.0, Electromagnetic Interference Measurement and Ancillary

15、 Apparatus (in preparation); C108.1.2, Electromagnetic Interference Measuring Instruments Having Characteristics Specified in Existing North American Standards; C108 .l. 3, Spectrum Analysers (proposed) . It should be recognized that this Standard represents the voluntary contributions of the electr

16、ical and communications industries toward the solution of problems that have arisen through the development of the communication services. This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Electromagnetic Interference Measuring Instruments under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Com-

17、 mittee on Electromagnetic Interference Compatibility and was formally approved by these Committees. TYPE SCOPE This Standard sets forth the characteristics of an instrument conforming to C.I.S.P.R. require- ments for the measurement of electromagnetic interference I both conducted and radiated, in the frequency range 0.15 MHz-1000 I.Wz, as set forth in related CSA Standards on Tolerable

21、Limits of Electromagnetic Interference. The frequency range? methods of use, and tolerable limits are set forth in the applicable Standard. GENERAL The frequency range 0.15 MHz-1000 MHz is divided into three bands: (a) 0.15 MHZ-30 MHz; (b) 30 MHz-300 MHz; (c) 300 MHz-OOO MHz. Any given instrument ma

22、y or may not have the capability of tuning all bands, but it shall comply with this Standard within its tuning range. 25、ses of 0.316 V-S (0.15 MHz-30 MHz) or 0.044 PV-S (30 MHz-1000 MHz) at a pulse repetition frequency of 100 Hz shall at all frequencies within the tuning range be equal to the response to an unmodulated sine wave at the frequency of tuning of 1 mV (60 dB (;lV) rms k 1.5 dB from a signal generator of m

Type 9 3.2.2 Variation in Response with Pulse Repetition Frequency The response of the measuring instrument to repeated pulses shall be such that, for constant indication on the indicating meter, the relati

27、on- ship between amplitude and repetition frequency shall be as shown in Figure 1 and lie within the limits given in Table 2. 29、Figures 2 and 3. Spurious Response Rejection Ratio The rej.ection ratio to spurious responses shall

30、be 40 dB or greater. Intermodulation Degradation of Response The response of the measuring instrument shall not b.e ,sensibly degraded by intermodulation effects. The intermodulation of the instrument shall be measured using the procedure outlined in Clause 3.4.2 and shall meet the limits set forth

31、therein. 3.4.2 Measurement of Intermodulation The apparatus for the measurement of intermodula- tion shall be arranged as shown in Figure 4. measuring instrument, tuned to a certain fre- The quency, is preceded by a rejection filter at this frequency. The filter has an insertion loss of 40 dB at the

32、 tuned frequency and a 6 dB bandwidth dependent on the tuning range of the measuring instrument, 1.e. 20 kHz-200 kHz for the range 0.15 WZ-30 FIHz and 0.5 MHz-2 NHz for the range 30 MHz-1000 MHz. When a pulse generator having a substantially uniform spectrum to the upper limit of the tuning range of

33、 the measuring instrument and at least 10 dB down at a frequency twice that of the upper limit is substituted for the signal generator, the attenuation introduced by the filter shall be not less than 36 dB. 3.5 Instrument Backsround Noise 3.5.1 Error - The background noise of the measuring instrumen

34、t shall not introduce an error greater than I dB in the measurement of the wanted signal. The method of measurement of background noise shall be as outlined in Clause 3.5.2. 3.5.2 Measurement of the Effect of Background Noise For a measuring instrunent incorporating an intermediate-frequency attenua

35、tor the measure- ment shall be made as follows: A sine wave Electromagnetic Interference Measuring Instrument-C.I.S.P.R. Type 11 signal is applied to the input of the measuring instrument and its amplitude adjusted to produce a reference deflection 0. An attenuation of 10 dB is then introduced in th

36、e intermediate- frequency amplifier and the amplitude of the input signal is increased to restore the output indication to the reference deflection 0. The increase in the amplitude of the input signal should be between 10 and 11 dB. 3.6 3-7 - Shielding The shielding of the measurinq instrument shall

37、 be such that with the antenna removed and the input terminated and shielded, the indication of field strength shall be 60 dB below the measured value. It shall be possible, under all condi- tions of measurement, to set the gain of the instrument to within k 1 dB of the value used during initial cal

38、ibration. Accur acv The error in the measurement of sine wave voltage shall not be greater than .t- 2 db. Note: The requirements for the accuracy of measurement of repetitive pulses have been discussed in Clauses 3.2.1 and 3.2.2. The effect of the instrument characteristics on its pulse response is
