The product consists of an open weave design of polymeric monofilaments.1.2 This Standard does not apply to coated electrical sleeving intended for use in connection with the internal wiring of electrical devices and appliances and for insulating one or more uninsulated or parti

36、to this Standard are given in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 0.4.2 The sleeving shall be of an open weave design of polymeric monofilaments.4.3 The surface of the sleeving shall be relatively smooth and free from blisters, cracks, and other defects that can be detrimental to the coated electrical sleeving in its
37、 intended use.5 Tests5.1 Cold bendSleeving shall not crack or rupture when a specimen is subjected to a cold bend test as follows: A specimen shall be wound one complete turn around a mandrel 8 times the sleeving trade size after conditioning for one hour at 10.0 1.0 C. Conductors shall not be inser
38、ted into the sleeving for this test.5.2 Flame 5.2.1 GeneralExpandable sleeving shall meet the requirements of at least one of the flame tests specified in Clauses 5.2.2 to 5.2.4. 5.2.2 Horizontal flame (FT2)The length of the charred portion of the specimen of expandable sleeving shall not exceed 100
39、 mm nor shall it drop flaming particles causing the cotton to ignite when tested in accordance with the FT2/FH/ horizontal flame test in CSA C22.2 No. 2556 and modified in accordance with Clause 5.2.5.5.2.3 Vertical flame (FT1)OptionalThe specimen of expandable sleeving shall not convey flame, drop
40、flaming particles causing the cotton to ignite, nor continue to burn for more than 60 s after any of the five flame applications when tested in accordance with the FT1 test in CSA C22.2 No. 2556 and modified in accordance with Clause 5.2.4. A specimen shall be considered to have conveyed flame if mo
41、re than 25% of the extended portion of the indicator is burned.5.2.4 Vertical Flame (VW-1)OptionalThe specimen of expandable sleeving shall not convey flame, drop flaming particles causing the cotton to ignite nor continue to burn for more than 60 s after any of the five flame applications when test
42、ed in accordance with the VW-1 test in CSA C22.2 No. 2556 and modified in accordance with Clause 5.2.5. 43、SA Group85.2.5 Specimen for flame testsIn performing any of the flame tests, a metal wire, rod, or pipe shall be inserted into the specimen of expandable sleeving to provide a snug fit without expanding the sleeving to its maximum overall diameter.5.3 Heat-resistant properties5.3.1 Sleeving shall no
44、t crack or rupture when a specimen is bent around a mandrel one complete turn after conditioning in a forced air oven for 168 h at the temperature indicated in the table below. Conductors shall not be inserted into the sleeving for this test.5.3.2 Sleeving shall be bent around a 6.35 mm mandrel for
45、trade sizes up to 38.0 mm or a 12.7 mm mandrel for trade sizes larger than 38.0 mm. 46、uired. 6.2 Package markingExpandable sleeving shall be marked with the following information on the outside of the spool, on a separate tag, or on the outside of the smallest unit container:a) the submittors identification;b) the catalogue number and size;c) the temperature rating in C;d) the flammability rating “FT2”;e) the optional flammability rating “FT1” or “VW-1”, if applicable; andf) the date of manufacture (or a lot number, if the manufacture date can be traced from this number).
