CGA. founded in 198
18、7, represents distributors, transmission companies. producers, pipeline contractors, manufacturers and allied service organizations. CGA set up a standards writing, inspection and certification program in the mid 198s at a time when natural gas service was being extended to Eastern Canada and the We
19、st Coast. The Standards program now embraces ninety standards for gas appliances and accessories. Committees that write the standards include representation from all interests and are so constituted that no one interest may dominate. The interests represented include consumers, manu facturers, utili
20、ties. governmental inspection authorities and certification agencies. Standards are prepared using the con sensus principle with effort applied to reconcile any negative ballots. Government inspection authorities having jurisdiction also ballot on the standards, sitting as the Interprovincial Gas Ad
21、visory Council (IGAC). The CGA Standards Advisory Committee (SAC) reviews committee structures and procedures to determine that the standard meets the criteria of the Standards Council of Canada. This standard has been accepted by the Standards Committee, IGAC and SAC. This standard is intended to b
22、e used within the scope of the standard by the manufacturing sector, by those applying the equipment, or those responsible for its proper application. It is the responsibility of the user to determine in each case that the standard is suitable for the specific application. The Standards Committee an
23、d IGAC normally stipulate an effect ive date for the standard, delayed sufficiently to permit sup pliers to make adjustments. 28、n of a housing or enclosure; a mounting arrangement for control and other components. 1.3 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1.3.1 All components for propane dispensing devices shall comply with the requ irements of the appl icable Standards for such products and materials. 1.3.2 The construction of all parts of
29、a propane dispensing device, whether specifically covered by the various sections of this standard or not. shall be in accordance with reasonable concepts of safety, substantiality, and durability. 1.3.3 Electrical features of dispensing devices shall comply with the applicable provisions of the cur
30、rent CSA Standard C.22.2 No.22, Electrical Equipment for Flammable Liquid Dispensers, and the applicable provisions of the current CSA Standard C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code Part I. 1.3.4 A liquid line opening for field connection shall be plugged or capped by the manufacturer prior to shipment to
31、prevent entrance of foreign material. 1.3.5 Propane confining parts shall have a rated working pressure of not less than 350 psig (2400 kPa). 1.4 GENERAL ASSEMBLY 1.4.1 A dispenser shall be constructed and assembled in a manner to attain strength, rigidity, and durability. 1.4.2 The assembly shall b
32、e such that parts can be replaced or reassembled in a proper manner after being dismantled. 1.5 PLASTIC MATERIALS 1.5.1 Plastic parts shall be resistant to deterioration and deformation from conditions imposed on them in service, in cluding cold weather. 1.5.2 Plastic parts shall not exceed temperat
33、ures of 149F (65C) in service at an ambient temperature of 77F (25C) unless the material is recognized as having special heat resis tant properties. 1.5.3 A plastic panel used as part of the housing shall remain intact when subjected to room temperature and cold impact tests as described in Section
34、2.5 of Part II. 1.6 BASE 1.6.1 The base is considered to be that part of the assembly intended to be anchored to the foundation on which the dispensing device will be installed. It shall be a metal casting of good quality not less than one quarter inch in thickness or of not less than No. 12 gauge s
35、teel or of other materials or constructions reinforced or otherwise stiffened to provide equivalent strength. 1.6.2 The base shall be provided with bolt holes to accom modate bolts of not less than one-half inch (12.7 mm) diameter for anchoring the dispenser. At least 2 holes shall be provided if th
36、e dispenser is not more than 6 feet (1.83 m) high and at least 4 holes if the dispenser is over 6 feet (1.83 m) high. If two holes are provided, they shall be located on opposite sides of the base and at least 13 inches (0.33 m) apart. If more than 2 holes are provided, they shall be located approxi
37、mately symmetrically on a bolt circle having 2 CANl-12.4-M84 April 1984 a diameter of not less than 13 inches (0.33 m). The bolt holes shall be accessible, e.g. by being located in the base at the sides of the dispenser provided with doors or removable panels. 1.7 HOUSING 1.7.1 The construction of t
38、he housing, where provided, shall be such that it will not become warped, bent, loosened, or otherwise damaged in normal operation so as to prevent the device from complying with any of these requirements. Ex posure of the assembly to the weather shall not interfere with the performance of the opera
39、ting parts that it encloses. A recess or depression in the housing that may collect water shall be arranged to direct such collection to the outside or to points within the structure where it can fall to the ground without damage to the internal components. 1.7.2 When the housing totally or partiall
40、y supports operating parts, the supporting section shall be constructed to provide the necessary rigidity and strength. The housing shall be secured to the base in a manner that will provide substantial support upon removal of access panels. 1.7.3 A part employed in a housing shall be not less than
41、the equivalent in strength to that afforded by sheet steel having a minimum thickness of 0.036 inch (0.91 mm). 1.7.4 Stainless steel having a minimum thickness of 0.023 inch (0.58 mm), aluminum having a minimum thickness of 0.047 inch (1.19 mm), and plastic conforming to Section 1.5 are each conside
42、red to be the equivalent of carbon steel specified in Clause 1.7.3. 1.7.5 A panel of the housing, where provided, if wholly or partially located less than 48 inches (1.22 m) above the plane of the lower edge of the base, shall not be made of glass. 1.7.6 The housing shall afford space for making fie
43、ld con nections of liquid-handling piping and electrical equipment. Openings with acceptable closures shall be provided for making field connections and for inspection and adjustment of the operating mechanism after the device is installed, unless sections of the housing are constructed to be remov
44、ed readily for this purpose. 1.7.7 Openings in the housing for the reception of hose nozzles, when they are not in use, shall be fitted with a substantial nozzle guard or holster. 1.7.8 A dispenser housing shall incorporate 8 sq. inches (51.6 cm2) of opening to provide free venting of the cabinet. T
45、he openings shall be placed within 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm) above the dispenser base, and shall be arranged to provide cross flow ventilation, and shall be designed to minimize the entry of rain or snow. 1.8 PRESSURE RELIEF 1.8.1 A hydrostatic relief valve shall be installed between each pair of
46、 shut-off valves on propane liquid piping to relieve in a downward direction such that the discharge shall not impinge on any other propane confining components. The start-to-discharge pressure setting of such a hydrostatic relief valve shall be neither less than 375 psig (2500 kPa) nor more than 50
47、0 psig (3500 kPa). 1.8.2 The hydrostatic rei ief valve shall com ply with the pro visions of UL 132 Standard “Safety Relief Valves for Anhydrous Ammonia and LP-Gas“. 1.9 METERS A meter shall comply with the provisions of UL 25 Standard “Meters for Flammable and Combustible Liquids and LP Gas“. 1.10
48、STRAINERS 1.10.1 A strainer shall be incorporated upstream of the measuring element for the meter. 1.10.2 A strainer shall comply with the provisions of UL 331 Standard “Strainers for Flammable Fluids and Anhydrous Ammonia“. 1.11 PUMPS Where provided, a pump shall comply with the provisions of the c
