11、with DIN 16917-2, applies to pipes made of thermoplastic materials with profiled walls and smooth pipe inside and made of the following materials: polyethylene (PE 80, PE 100 and PE-HD), polypropylene (PP), homopolymer and copolymer and unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), with a nominal diamet
12、er greater than 1 200 mm, intended for underground installation. It also applies to fittings manufactured from these pipes. This standard contains general requirements and performance characteristics for large pipes and fittings made of thermoplastic materials with profiled walls and smooth pipe ins

43、4.1 General The material shall correspond to one of the materials specified in DIN 16917-2. NOTE Information on general material properties is contained in Annex A. 4.2 Use of non-virgin material The requirements for material and levels of permitted additives are specified in DIN 16917-2. 4.3 Retain
44、ing components for sealing rings Retaining components for sealing rings may be made from polymers other than PVC-U, PP or PE. 4.4 Sealing rings The sealing ring material shall conform to DIN EN 681-1, DIN EN 681-2 or DIN EN 681-4, as applicable. The sealing ring shall have no detrimental effects on
45、the component properties. 4.5 Fused or welded joints When fused or welded joints are used, the relevant DVS rules (DVS 2207, Part 1, Part 3 and Part 4) and component manufacturers instructions for jointing shall be followed. Any aids and tools to be used shall be utilized in accordance with the manu
46、facturer guidelines. 5 Designation of wall constructions Pipes and fittings with smooth internal and external surfaces are designated as Type A. Pipes and fittings with smooth internal and profiled external surfaces are designated as Type B. Definitions of wall constructions including schematic sket
47、ches and examples of typical jointing methods are given in DIN 16917-2 for Type A and Type B pipes. 6 Appearance and colour 6.1 Appearance The pipes shall be straight and the cross section shall be as close to circular as possible. The pipe walls shall be free of visible blisters, sinkholes and inho
48、mogeneities. In case of pipes with multiple layers, the individual layers shall be homogeneously fused together with one another. NOTE This does not apply to moulded elements in the stiffening profiles necessary for manufacturing. Pipe ends shall be cleanly cut square to the axis of the pipe. Edges
49、of pipes which become sharp when cut shall be rounded off. 6.2 Colour The individual layers of the pipes and fittings shall be coloured uniformly and evenly throughout.
