5、This standard specifies technical delivery conditions for seamless circular titanium and titanium alloy (titanium, for short) tubes. 1.2 Titanium and low alloytitanium tubes are intended pri- marily to be used in the construction of chemical plant and for products which are required to be resistant

6、to corrosion (e.9. in the chemical, paper, pulp, textile and food industries, for power plants, maritime structures, electroplating and surface refinement, as well as in applications in medicine). 1.3 High-alloy titanium tubes are mainly used for applica- tions where a low mass is a design factor or

7、 nonmagnetic properties are required (e.g. in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, optics, measurement and control engineering, electrical engineering, and applications in medicine). 10、anium tubes for use in aerospace. 1.5 Titanium tubes are to comply with the specifications given in this standard unless particularfields arecovered by other codes of practice (e.g. Technische Regeln Druck- behlter (Codes of practice for pressure vessels), Merk- bltter der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Druckb

11、ehlter (Instruction sheets issued by the Pressure Vessels Study Group), Werk- stoff-ieistungsbltter der Luftfahrt (Materials specifications for aviation). 1.6 Depending on the particular application, tubes shall be tested to either test class 1 or 2, the latter involving more comprehensive testing.

12、2 Designation and ordering When ordering, a distinction shall be made between essential (cf.subclause 2.2) and optional (cf.subclause 2.3) order details. 13、p 9 10.92 Sales No. O109 Page 2 DIN 17861 2.1 Standard designation The standard designation shall give, in the following order: a) name of product (tube); b) DIN number (DIN 17861); c) characteristic dimensions (outside diameter x wall thickness); d) material designation or number; e) symbol denotin

25、 Manufacturing process 3.1.1 Tubes are normally to be produced from material melted in avacuum arc furnace by hot or cold rolling,extrud- ing or cold drawing, or a combination of these processes. 3.1.2 0. If so agreed, the purchaser shall be informed of the manufacturing process used. 3.2 Chemical c

26、omposition 3.2.1 Ladle analysis DIN 17 850 shall apply forthe chemical composition of tita- nium, and DIN 17851, for ihat of titanium alloys. 3.2.2 Product analysis 0. A product analysis may be agreed at the time of order- ing. Where such analysis is carried out, the specifications given in DIN 1785

27、0and DIN 17851, respectively,shall apply for the limit deviations for the product analysis from the limiting values specified for the ladle analysis. 3.2.3 Permissible deviations With the consent of the purchaser or his representative, minor deviations of the chemical composition from the limiting v

28、alues specified for the ladle analysis andlor prod- uct analysis are permitted, provided they do not adversely affect the mechanical properties of the tube. 3.3 Mechanical properties 3.3.1 The values of 0,2% and 1 % proof strength, tensile strength and elongation at fracture at ambient temperature s

29、hall comply with the values given in table 1. 33、 shall apply for all conditions on supply specified in subclause 3.5.1, under the conditions specified in sub- clause 4.4.2. Note. The term heat treated condition(as used in table 6) means that the tubes have undergone a softening treatment. 3.3.2 If the tensile strength exceeds the upper limiting v

34、alues of the relevant range listed in table 1, the material shall still be deemed to be in compliance with the require- ments, provided that the minimum value of elongation at fracture is complied with. 3.3.3 e* Table 2 specifies minimum values of elevated temperature 1 YO proof strength, determinat

35、ion of which may be agreed at the time of ordering. 3.3.4 Tubes shall pass the flattening test, drift expanding test or ring expanding test (cf. subclauses 4.4.4,4.4.5 and 4.4.6) and shall not exhibit any imperfections such as scabs, laps or laminations. 3.3.5 Tubes,except those made ofTiAl6V4 alloy

36、, are suit- able for cold forming (e.g. bending). Note that cold forming may alter the mechanical and physical properties and affect corrosion resistance. 3.3.6 DIN 17869 (at present at the stage of draft) provides additional information on titanium alloys (e.g.with regard to elevated temperature te

37、nsile strength, physical properties, heat treatment, machinability, welding and other jointing processes). 38、 and wall thicknesses of tubes. 0. Other dimensions shall be the subject of agreement at the time of ordering. Note. Certain materials are not available in all sizes. 3.4.2 Mass per unit length 3.4.2.1 For the preferred dimensions given, the values of mass per unit length of titanium and titanium-pa

39、lladium alloy tubes are specified in table 3 and have been calculat- ed using the following equation: where G is the mass per unit length; da is the outside diameter, in mm; s is the wall thickness, in mm. The coefficient used in the above equation is based on a titanium density of 4,505 kg/dm3. In

40、the case of titanium alloys, the values given in table 3 shall, as a function of the relevant density, be corrected by the following factors: 1,008 for grade TiAIW6Sn2 (material number 3.7175); 0,995 for grade TiAI3V2.5 (material number 3.7195); 0,983 for grade TiAIW4 (material number 3.7165); 0,966

41、 for grade TiNi0,8MoO,3 (material number 3.7105). 42、 0,025 *20% 11 Yo, but at least *0,5mm 3.4.2.2 The tolerances on the mass per unit length, as a function of the nominal mass (as specified in table 3),shall be - for single tubes and - - 5% for the batch. 3.4.3 Tolerances 3.4.3.1 Outside diameter and wall thickness The outside diameter and wall thic

43、kness are subject to the limit deviations specified in table 4. The limit deviations for wall thickness include any differ- ences in wall thickness along the tube length. 0. Other limit deviations (e.g. in accordance with ASTM B 338) may be agreed at the time of ordering. 3.4.3.2 Circularity The dev

44、iation from circularity shall be within the limit devia- tions specified for the outside diameter. 3.4.3.3 Straightness Local deviations from straightness, as measured on a 1 m length of tube, shall not exceed 2 mm, the overall deviation from straightness being at most 15Vo over the relevant tube le
