12、tted into concrete manholes, made from stainless steel as in DIN EN 13101 (SSS):Step iron DIN 19555 A SSS3.2 Precast concrete manhole step ironsPrecast concrete manhole step irons shall have circular tails with an external diameter (including coating if ap-propriate) of (25 +00,5) mm (see gures 1 an
13、d 2).Drilled holes for xing step irons into concrete elements shall have an internal diameter of (25 +00,5) mm and a depth of (70 +50) mm.3.3 In-situ concrete manhole step ironsFor in-situ concrete manhole step irons, circular tails are not required.4 MaterialsThe specications of DIN EN 13101 and DI
14、N EN ISO 7089 shall apply.Step irons made from steel or aluminium alloys shall be resistant to corrosion. This shall be achieved by a plastics encapsulation consisting of UV-stabilized PE-HD (as used for pipes complying with DIN 8075) or of polypropylene copolymer (as used for PP-B or PP-R pipes com
15、plying with DIN 8078), or of an equivalent mate-rial of proven suitability. The plastics encapsulation shall have a minimum thickness of 2,5 mm at any point.5 Requirements, testing and inspectionThe specications of DIN EN 13101 and DIN V 1264 shall apply.Page 4DIN 19555:2003-04When subjected to the
16、vertical loading test as specied in DIN EN 13101, aluminium steps conforming to this standard shall meet the requirements for class I as specied in table 1 of DIN EN 13101:2003. Type B step irons made from grey cast iron shall comply, by analogy, with the strength requirements specied in DIN V 1264.
17、 Third party inspection shall be carried out as specied in Annex I of DIN EN 13101.6 MarkingThe specications of DIN EN 13101 shall apply. Step irons complying with this standard shall, in addition, be marked with the DIN number DIN 19555 and the letter A or B indicating the type.7 Arrangement and in
18、stallation of step ironsStep irons shall be arranged and installed as specied in DIN V 1264.Installation of step irons shall be carried out taking into account the manufacturers instructions.8 ApplicationStep irons shall be replaced if their coating or encapsulation is damaged to such an extent that
