Page 2 3 Concepts DIN 221 5 : 1998-08 The following terms and definitions, set out in IS0 1081, shall apply. 3.1 Pitch width Width of the belt at its pitch zone (neutral zone), designa

11、ted by wp. It remains unchanged when the belt is bent perpendicularly to its base. 3.2 Datum width Groove width characterizing the groove profile, designated byw,. It is a defined value not subject to tolerances and is usually located at the pitch zone of the V-belt for which the pulley groove is in

12、tended. It should coincide with the pitch width of the belt within reasonable tolerances. 3.3 Datum diameter Diameter of the pulley at the datum width of the pulley groove, designated by dd. 3.4 Datum circumference Circumference of a circle with a diameter equal to the datum diameter, designated by

13、C,. 3.5 Datum length Length of a line circumscribing a V-belt at the level of the datum diameter of the measuring pulleys while the belt is at a specified tension, designated by L,. 4 Dimensions and designation 4.1 Groove profile The design shown in this standard is for illustrative purposes only, b

14、ut the dimensions of the groove profiles shall be as specified. 16、cify design features. V-belts shall be manufactured to obtain a good fit in the pulley grooves, as specified in DIN 221 7-1. Page 5 DIN 221 5 : 1998-08 5 Material and design Unless otherwise agreed between customer and manufacturer, the choice of material and design of V-belts shall be left to the latter. 6 Checking and measure

23、ment 6.1 Measuring belt length The belt is to be placed into two identical measuring pulleys (cf. figure 2) with grooves as shown in figure 3 and dimensions as given in table 5. The sliding pulley shall be subjected to a measuring force, Q, as specified in table 5. In order that the belt sits proper

24、ly in the groove, the pulleys should be rotated so that the belt completes one to three revolutions. The distance between the axes of the two pulleys shall then be measured. The datum length of the belt, L, is given by the following equation: L, = amax + amin + C, where amax amin C, is the maximum d

Explanatory notes This standard is based on IS0 4184 with regard to tolerances,

28、centre distance variation, checking procedures and designation of classical V-belts. Table 2 includes the normal range of datum lengths for each belt profile but not inside lengths or pitch lengths, to help prevent the wrong lengths being supplied for particular profiles. This standard also follows IS0 4183 with regard to specifying the minimum datum diameter of grooved pulleys and the dimensions of measuring pulleys. Belts which conform to the present standard are interchangeable with those which conform to the 1975 edition.
