2、cation This standard illustrates how to calculate the inside diameters required to make seamless steel pipes in compliance with DIN 2462-1 match and form grooves shaped as specified in DIN 2559-1 suitable for one-sided welding. It is to be used for butt-welding pipes supplied by different manufactur
3、ers which have the same nominal diameter but differ in their actual dimensions, and may be applied as appropriate to other cylindrical hollow bodies. 16、able 7, shall read: Groove DIN 2559-21-32-26 4 Matching of pipe ends 4.1 The pipe ends may be formed in a non-cutting process or by machining. Machined internal faces shall be smooth and have a ten point height of irregularities, R, not exceeding 100 pm. 4.2 The internal faces need not be machined i
17、f the actual inside diameter is equal to or greater than d, nor if the misalign- ment of pipe ends, e, does not exceed the permissible dimensions (ci. subclause 4.4). 4.3 If the pipes to be welded have differing inside diameters, the larger diameter may be taken as diameter dp, provided the walls of
18、 both pipes can be bevelled to form an appropriate groove. I) Cf. subclause 4.2. Page4 DIN 2559-4 4.4 Within the range defined by DIN EN 25817, misalignment of the pipe ends, as illustrated by e in figures 3 and 4, is permitted. 4.5 Where the requirements specified in subclauses 4.3 and 4.4 are not
19、met, pipe ends may be prepared for welding (by bevelling, expanding or surfacing, or by providing a suitable transition). Dimension t, represents the design wall thickness.
