The material designations alone do not allow reliable conclusions to be drawn as to the performance of gasket materials. The material designations are thus not sufficient for the selection and ordering of gasket sheets and gaskets. In cases where the material cannot be marked across its surface, e.g. gasket sheets composed of PTFE, the marking shall be applied on one of the corners of each sheet.
