Previous editions DIN 488-4: 1972-04, 1986-06 3 DIN 488-4:2009-08 1 Scope This standard specifies the technical delivery conditions and mechanical and geometric properties of weldable ribbed reinforcing steel made of steel grades B500A und B500
9、B, used in the form of welded fabric for the reinforcement of concrete structures. The specific requirements for steel grades B500A (1.0438) and B500B (1.0439) used for the manufacture of welded fabric are covered by DIN 488-1 to DIN 488-3. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents a

20、r number of the steel grade (see DIN 488-1:2009-08, Table 2); d) nominal dimensions of the product (dimensions of the bars, dimensions of the sheet of welded fabric, pitch of the bars, overhangs). NOTE Brief designations are widely used to describe standard welded fabric. The corresponding standard
21、welded fabric structure can be taken from tables issued by the manufacturer. Purpose-made welded fabric can be described as shown in Figure 1 or by a fully dimensioned drawing and should be identified by the users reference. Designation example: Welded fabric according to this Part of DIN 488 of ste
22、el grade B500B with longitudinal bars 12 mm in diameter and transverse bars 8 mm in diameter with a pitch of 125 mm, with 2 edge bars 10 mm longitudinal and 7 mm transverse: Welded fabric DIN 488-4 B500B 125 12/10-2/2-125 8/7-2/2 5.2 Ordering When ordering welded fabric, the procedure shall take int

27、 ductility class A can be manufactured from ribbed reinforcing steel of steel grade B500A and material number 1.0438 and/or of reinforcing steel of steel grade B500B and material number 1.0439 according to DIN 488-1 to DIN 488-3. Welded fabric of ductility class B shall be manufactured from reinforc
28、ing steel of steel grade B500B and material number 1.0439 according to DIN 488-1 to DIN 488-3. All welded fabric shall be factory made and machine welded. The joints at the intersection of the longitudinal bars and transverse bars shall be made by electrical projection welding (electrical resistance
29、 spot welding) to provide a shear force meeting the requirements of 6.2.2. The specified welding ratios shall be noted (see 6.3.2.4). Bars in only one direction (longitudinal or transverse) may be twin bars. 6.2 Properties 6.2.1 Properties in the tensile test See DIN 488-1:2009-08, Table 2. 6.2.2 Sh
30、ear resistance of the welded joints Welded joints in welded fabric shall be able to withstand a shear force Fsof at least 0,25 Re Anbefore fracture, where Reis the specified characteristic yield strength (500 MPa) and An(in mm2) is the nominal cross-sectional area of either a) the thicker bar at the
31、 intersection in single bar welded fabric, or b) one of the twin bars in twin bar welded fabric. The test shall be conducted according to DIN EN ISO 15630-2. For the quantile according to DIN 488-1:2009-08, Table 2, row 12, 0,30 Re Anapplies. 6.2.3 Properties in the fatigue test See DIN 488-1:2009-0
32、8, Table 2. The specimen shall have at least one welded intersection in the gauge length. The thinner bar shall be tested. 6.2.4 Bend performance The suitability for bending of welded fabric shall be characterized by the behaviour of the initial products in the rebend test (see DIN 488-2 and DIN 488
33、-3). NOTE Bending the weld is not permitted when using welded fabric. 6.2.5 Bend test on the weld The bend test on the weld shall be conducted on the thicker bar. The mandrel diameter D is 6 dsand the bending angle 60o. After the test, the test piece shall show no signs of fracture. Small cracks in
34、the weld shall be disregarded. 8 DIN 488-4:2009-08 6.3 Dimensions and masses 6.3.1 Nominal diameters, nominal cross-sectional areas and nominal masses See DIN 488-1:2009-08, Table 3. With regard to exceeding or falling short of the nominal cross-sectional area, see DIN 488-1:2009-08, Table 2. The to
35、lerance applies to the individual bars. 6.3.2 Form and dimensions of the sheets of fabric 6.3.2.1 General Each sheet of welded fabric shall have the minimum number of bars corresponding to the required dimensions for length, width, pitch and overhang. A sheet of fabric from which no more than one sa
36、mple has been taken shall not be rejected for this reason. 6.3.2.2 Diameter of the bars The sheets of fabric shall be manufactured from bars with the nominal diameters given in DIN 488-1:2009-08, Table 3. 6.3.2.3 Arrangement of the bars The bars in an individual sheet of fabric shall be single and/o
37、r twin bars (in one direction only). 6.3.2.4 Ratio of the bar diameters 6.3.2.4.1 Sheets of fabric with single bars The diameters of the bars shall meet the following requirement: dmin 0,57 dmaxwith ds 8,5 mm and dmin 0,7 dmaxwith ds 8,5 mm where dmaxis the nominal diameter of the thickest bar; dmin
38、is the nominal diameter of the crossing bar; dsis the nominal diameter of the individual bars. Deviating diameter ratios are not permitted. 6.3.2.4.2 Sheets of fabric with twin bars in one direction The diameters of the bars shall meet the following requirement: 0,7 ds dr 1,25 ds9 DIN 488-4:2009-08

Deviating diameter ratios are not permitted. 6.3.2.5 Pitch and overhang The pitch of longitudinal bars (PL) and transverse bars (PC) shall not be less than 50 mm (see 3.6 and Figure 1). With twin b
40、ars, the centre-to-centre distance shall not be less than 100 mm. NOTE The overhang (u1, u2, u3, u4) should not be less than 25 mm (see 3.7 and Figure 1). 6.3.2.6 Dimensions of the sheets of fabric The nominal length, width and pitch of the bars and the nominal overhangs of the sheets of fabric shal
41、l be agreed at the time of enquiry and order. 6.3.2.7 Limit deviations for welded fabric The limit deviations for welded fabric are as follows: length and width: 25 mm or 0,5 %, whichever is greater; bar pitch: 15 mm or 7,5 %, whichever is greater; overhangs: to be agreed at the time of enquiry and

Special requirements in respect of limit deviations can be agreed between the manufacturer and the customer. 6.4 Surface geometry The products according to this Part of DIN 488 shall have a ribbed surface. The requirements of DIN 488-1 to DIN 488-3 apply. 7 Identification of the products The products shall be identified according to DIN 488-1:2009-08, clause 8. 8 Proof of conformity Proof of conformity to the requirements of this standard shall be provided as specified in DIN 488-6.
