、rds Committee).IntroductionWater treatment equipment for inhibiting corrosion within drinking water systems can be used to reduceseveral types of corrosion effect. The effectiveness of the equipment must be checked separately for eacheffect it is intended to remedy. This standard therefore specifies
、 different test methods and arrangementsfor each treatment purpose; however, all tests involve comparing the operation of pipe systems with treatedwater to that with untreated water. The objective of corrosion control may be toa) alter the quality of the drinking water,b) reduce the amount of materia
、l removed from components of the system,c) improve corrosion behaviour in terms of localized corrosion,d) form a protective layer, or toe) remove scale from the pipe system.Ref. The effectiveness of the equipment is to be evaluatedseparatel

See the other parts of DIN 50934 for more details.4.1.3 Operating conditionsTest cond
、itions shall correspond to the actual operating conditions of the drinking water system, particularlyin terms of the length of time water in cold systems stagnates versus the time it flows; in hot water systems, the circulation time may need to be taken into consideration.4.2 Test procedureThe effect
、iveness of the equipment is evaluated using test assemblies comprising one or more pipe runsthrough which treated and untreated water is passed, using the specified reagent waters. Some assemblies areattached at the inlet to the treatment equipment under test. It is essential that the assemblies being comparedare operated simultaneously. See the other parts of DIN 50934 for test details such as reagent water param-eters, test duration, and operating conditions.
