3、 standard specifies the characteristics of endless narrow V-belts, abbreviated below to belts, for mechanical engineering purposes. 2 Terminology 2.1 Pitch width of belt, b, The pitch width of a belt, b, is understood to be the width of the belt at its pitch zone (neutral zone). The width remains th
4、e same when the belt is bent perpendicularly to its base (from: DIN 7719 Part 1, October 1985 edition). 2.2 Datum length of belt, L, The datum length of a belt, L, is understood to be the length of the belt at the level of the datum diameter of the measuring pulleys whilst the V-belt is at a prescri

10、tion of the manufacturer unless otherwise agreed, 5 Marking The belts shall be marked on their reverse side with at least t.he symbol denoting the belt section, and the datum length, e.9. with SPZ 900. 12、 length To determine the datum length of the belt, it shall be set up on two steel measuring pulleys of the same size as shown in figure 2, with groove shape as specified in figure 3 and dimensions as in table 3. The measuring force shall be applied to the movable pulley. To ensure that the belt is
13、well-seated in the pulley grooves and that the measuring force is equally distributed on both sides of the belt, turn the pulleys, with the measuring force applied, until the belt has completed at least two revolutions. Then measure the distance between the axes, a. L, is obtained from twice the axi
14、al distance plus the datum circumference of the measuring pulley, U, using the equation: L, = 2a + U,. Explanatory notes The belt profiles and lengths listed in this standard for encased belts correspond to those specified in the International Standard, IS0 4184 - 1980, Classical and narrow V-belts; lengths. Type 19 belt sections listed in the previo
18、us edition have been deleted as there are no standardized pulleys listed for this section in the relevant pulley standard. The nomenclature has been aligned with that used in IS0 1081 - 1980, Drives using V-belts and grooved pulleys; termi- nology. The same procedure for verifying the measuring pulleys has been adopted as provided in the relevant pulley standard, DIN 221 1 Part 1, which specifies the verification of pulleys verifying measuring pins as specified in DIN 2269.
