5、 Normenausschuss Mechanische Verbindungselemente (Fasteners Standards Committee). The DIN 4000-160-2 tabular layout of product properties shall apply to screws covered in this standard. Amendments This standard differs from DIN 7984:2002-12 as follows: a) normative references have been updated; b) i

6、n Table 1, footnote f, the value of lg max has been corrected to 3 P; c) the test procedure in 5.1 has been updated; d) the designation has been modified; e) the standard has been editorially revised; f) screws made of non-ferrous metals have been deleted; g) the angle of the bottom bearing face is

7、now included; h) the minimum ultimate tensile load for stainless steel screws is now included; i) the range of commercial lengths of short screws has been extended to include size M 18. Previous editions DIN 7984: 1961-03, 1967-12, 1970-12, 1985-05, 2002-12 3 DIN 7984:2009-06 1 Scope This standard s

8、pecifies properties for sizes M 3 to M 24 hexagon socket head cap screws with low head of product grade A as in DIN EN ISO 4759-1, made of steel and stainless steel. Where screws are to comply with specifications other than those given in this standard, these shall be specified in accordance with th

9、e relevant standards (e.g. DIN ISO 261, DIN ISO 965-2, DIN EN ISO 898-1, DIN EN ISO 3506-1 and DIN EN ISO 4759-1). Screws as specified in this standard cannot be used in the form of screw assemblies with captive washers as the associated components (e.g. washers) would require a smaller radius below

10、 the screw head, which could seriously reduce the strength of the screw head. 34、e 5 for limitations on the strength of screws. 5 Reduced strength 5.1 Screws made of steel (other than stainless) Due to their head design, steel screws covered by this standard may not fulfil the ultimate tensile strength requirements for property class 8.8 as in DIN EN ISO 898-1 when tested accord

35、ing to test series FF1. Nevertheless, the screws shall meet all the other requirements relating to the material and characteristics for property class 8.8 as specified in DIN EN ISO 898-1. Furthermore, when tested in a test apparatus as in DIN EN ISO 898-1, full-size screws shall withstand the minim

36、um ultimate tensile loads given in Table 3 without fracture.
